$999 AND 256gb would be the right move :)

its sad a 1.5TB Sandisk microSD can be bought regularly just a hair under or over $100 but +128gb bump in Apple world is $100. I know it's not a like for like comparison with NAND but it's gotta be a healthy, healthy, the healthiest you've ever seen healthy margin.

This probably costs them negative amount of money since 128 are more pricey to make than 256 in almost 2025.

We will see, maybe Indiaaaaaaa. Oh Indiaaaaaa manufacturing will help secure those costs with runaway something.

But I suppose it could be good to see supply chain differentiation from CHYNNA. Particularly when it comes to QC. We shall see.

I guess one things for sure. You're gonna see and you're gonna see soon.
And Tim Apple is gonna make you so proud to be an Apple customer.

$1,000 for a phone, let's say you keep it for three years, that's $333.33 a year. Some people spend more than that on coffee. Or a new TV that only does one thing.

Obviously the Pro phones are not for everyone and there are less expensive options available.

Agreed. I buy the Pro because I'm not very price sensitive, but iPhones don't start at $1000, they start at $799, if you're not counting the SE. The Pro shouldn't be the default iPhone suggested.

$800/3 = $266 per year. Better numbers if you keep it longer or do a trade-in.

How about bump up the base storage to 256gb AND keep the price at $999?

Yeah about that..

a man stands on a stage in front of a crowd and says no

I love iPhone rumors, but at this point just wait a few hours and find out.

This would be another memory increase for iPhones with no price increase.

Amazing how Apple can do that to the iPhone but not the Mac, even with the supposedly "skyrocketing memory prices."

No memory increase—the entry-level Pro is (supposedly) staying at $999 for 128 GB. And I don't remember anyone at Apple saying anything about "skyrocketing" prices of anything, ever.

1099 is a very poorly marketable pricetag. Even 2077 sounds better (maybe in 50 years huh?). Idk which leaker told that, but it was quite obvious they won’t raise the price that much, especially considering how oversaturated smartphone market is nowadays. It is much easier for them to use cheaper materials than raise the price to something that doesn’t quite correlate with typical psychological portrait of customer.

After all, economy isn’t that dead (yet) as some political candidates claim, Apple have no right to ask 100$ more, only if they add magnetic charger, AirPods and maybe some silicone case to the box

Maybe they will. It's pretty remarkable that Apple has maintained their iPhone price points for 7 years now. That $999 iPhone X is equivalent to ~$1,282 today.

At the same time not a single person is thinking their $1000+ dollar ‘pro’ device is $700 in 2017 money or doing cart wheels over its great price even if it’s a justified often used or most used device

$1000 in 2024 climate is still a thousand bucks.

And it's actually even less than that if you do the interest-free financing and factor in the time value of the money.

All due respect, when apple does announce those thing people will complain. Most of what I see here is people asking for stuff and when apple does it the same people find a way to complain about it. Either support them or move on. It’s pretty simple.

Sorry but no, I am citing examples here, Apple has a truly innovation problem, Apple is not merely a company , it is the largest company, so frankly I expect more. I love apple, and it is not an hater statement.
