But what does iJustine think???

She thinks "Man, my life is pretty great. I'm my own boss, I make a ton of money, I get to have fun all day with cool new tech, and I'm a voice for a very certain kind of person, who probably doesn't feel too welcome here."

She probably doesn't sleep well 🤷‍♂️

“A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad." - A quote about video games but works for software in general.

Also a quote that is always attributed to Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo but apparently he didn't actually ever say it.

Whoever said it was right!

No Man's Sky would like a word.

  • She is one of the few Apple Watch reviewers that seem to regularly drive with her watches, showing off all of the functionality relating to the diving functions, which I appreciate (even if I am not a diver)
  • Her Mac and IPad reviews always test out things like display support, which not a lot of people do (particularly iPads)
  • She demonstrates a lot of camera functions in her iPhone reviews
I think she is actually one of the better reviewers out there. I wonder why she gets so much hate 🧐

Aside from the obvious, the geniuses who spend time on this forum are angry that she's not tearing the phone apart to a molecular level to give details about how many nanoseconds of extra battery life you'd get if our gravity was half of it was it was and it was a little colder outside.

For real, she caters to a casual audience. On purpose. She's not the idiot you guys think she is. She's killing it by design. You're all whining on a forum about her.

Seriously considering canceling my order and sticking with the iPhone 13 Pro for another year. This is a tough one.
I would consider it too but I need a new battery and have difficulty justifying it for just another year of use.

In hindsight, I wish I replaced my battery last year.

I'll say this to 12 Pro users: I would definitely upgrade. The 12 Pro was my least favorite iPhone and the only one I kept for one year, the 13 Pro was a great improvement over it alone.

So form over function.
What’s wrong with that, or in this case, why can’t we have our cake and eat it? A refreshed look with all of the bells and whistles inside that you would expect with a Pro. It’s been three years since the 13 Pro release so it’s time for a significant change. Actually, I think adding ultramarine, pink and teal to the color options for the 16 Pro would’ve been a good decision by Apple.

i’m pretty disappointed the 48mp Ultrawide resulting photos are 12mp not 24mp like the main 1x camera.

I noticed a huge difference going from 12mp to 24mp photos while less difference going from 24mp to 48mp heif max.

Knowing Apple it will be a feature for next years Pro iPhone smh

It is indeed a camera. And as a photographer I've been using iPhones exclusively for quite awhile.

And will be picking up my 16PM this Friday at the local Apple Store.
It's not a camera. It's a phone with a camera. And a professional photographer would use a DSLR, not a phone. I guess you're not a professional photographer then. But if you've been published, I'd love to see your work.

Thanks for your concern, but I’m wondering if this is an age and gender thing. I cannot think of anything I would less want to do than talk on the phone. The same is true of my peers.
Well, I can infer from your "68030" that you're older than dirt. Almost as old as me!

It might seem wasteful to upgrade from 15 Pro Max, but for me increased battery life, and even a slightly bigger screen is worth it since I'm vision impaired. On that note, I wish we could have an iPad mini (8.3") capable of phone calls/etc.

As someone said earlier, storing a large device in pockets isn't a problem since at least some of us use sling bags, etc. Talking on a "big" phone is also not an issue - I have AirPods for that.

I am holding out for either the 17 pro max or 18 pro max or until my iPhone no longer gets iOS updates. Hopefully one of these phones will get a design refresh, a button and decreased bezels does not count for a design change.

I like Apple, and am stuck in there ecosystem but this years iPhone is pardon my French ‘boring’. Since the X Apple has been stuck in a S (silly) incremental cycle that seems to have no end.

Either way I got my money worth out of my 12 pro max, which has served me well and I will miss it when I come to update.

If it lets one make photographs, it's a camera.

Click here if you'd like to see some of my work. I think there's around a dozen pages of photos.

It's getting better and better - video. Fantastic performance, great thermals and impressive battery life. He said in the end, that it's like true iPhone 13 Pro successor in battery life aspect. Getting more and more excited to get mine.

Small changes from the outside, but big from the inside. That's the most exciting thing for me. The things that can't be seen from average user.

I have a 14 Pro going to a 16 Pro this year. The sole reason I am upgrading is for Apple Intelligence. The other factors in the upgrade are very minor to me, although I will appreciate the 5x optical zoom over the 3x. But that's it really.

Do you refer to your car as a mobile stereo system, because if one can listen to music, then it's a stereo? How many MPG does your stereo get?

If you walk into a dedicated camera store, will they sell iPhones (they're not called iCamera for a reason).

Felt like that with the 15 Pro too. It had an action button, and a better zoom lens. Feels a bit more of an upgrade even from that this year to be honest. Which isn’t too bad.

I remember just 3G and 3Gs having small upgrades, as well. People freaked over 2 small upgrades. There’s loads of them here (yeah there could be more) but I’m happy with upgrading.
I have to disagree. Back in the time the 3G was really slow - don’t forget it only had 128MB RAM with a very slow CPU. Upgrading to the 3GS was definitely much faster. The same cannot be said with the 15 PM to 16PM transition.

I’m 60 and female and I freaking hate talking on the phone. Everyone who needs to reach me knows to text me.

Im not even sure what my phone sounds like when it rings, since I keep it on silent, always.

So what we know form these "reviews" is this..

Patel wants to utterly slate it but is scared of apple PR and blacklisting.

Marcus thinks its a nothing update based on promises for the future which is wrong.

tech chap hates the photo processing on it and Samsung/pixel beat it.

mrwhostheboss thinks the pro is trash, HATES the camera button gimmick and finds it pointless.

the camera button is ****, useless and slower compared to actually using screen controls and the larger display is not noticeable at all.

If you have 13/14/15 pro, skip it.

This might be the laziest, most pointless update since the normal sized iPhone XS.
I may be only one person but I upgraded the phone every year since the 3GS. Not anymore this year.
Apple is not even trying to convince us this year. Lol.

I don't. But why would in the world would I care so vehemently if someone else did? That isn't healthy.

Why do you care about what others think and believe? An iPhone being a great camera is really nothing to get so worked up about, and similarly isn't healthy.

I and all of my couple dozen photographer friends consider an iPhone being a fine camera, that we use to make photographs - many printed, matted, and framed.

Are you a photographer?

Yes. If someone has to find me for something, text me.
Calling someone for something really unimportant (outside of the close relative circle) is borderline impolite now.
