Not me! With my dry fingers during winter Touch ID sensor is unable to read any of my fingers....sadly
Would you prefer Under-Screen Touch ID on an iPhone?

I'm thinking that if you move the Touch ID sensor farther from my dry fingers that would/could make it worse. MY iPhone 13PM works wonderfully with Face ID. My 10.5 and 12.9 iPad pros (older models that have Touch ID) do not function much this time of year, sadly.

I don't think Apple would change the design of the pill next year. It should take 1-2 years more for this to happen. Timeline provided looks kinda optimistic.
That's what users said when iPhone 13 Pro's notch became smaller and reports wrote that it would be gone just the following year. And after only 1 year, the next flagship namely iPhone 14 Pro adopted Dynamic Island... They were right!

A lot of us are still kind of too stuck in the details to see what Apple are moving towards.
The iPhone of the future will look more like Google's project Starline.
It will be less of a phone and more of a hole, a portal, or a window, whatever you want to call it. Working out all of the kinks with that so that eye contact can be maintained, color is good, motion blur is nonexistent, etc., is being worked out through these tech upgrades (90Hz screen, removing the notch, under-display Face ID and on).
All of this is interesting but ultimately, when you hit the point where the tech becomes invisible and you see through to the other side, you can't do a whole lot more beyond that.
Though I guess there is always "smell-o-vision"...
Just give be an AR enabled iMonocle. :) Oh, and I’m sure a case manufacturer would be happy to release an Over9000 case for it, for added funs!

(Just don’t crush it please!)

Not going to happen - again. They are not introducing dynamic island just to remove it again in the next version - thats gonna take 5 versions. So iPhone 20 is gonna have it under the display.
The DI will still be there, but it will just be smaller — just like the notch became smaller.

It’s follows young’s rumoured timeline with the iPhone going completely full screen by 2016.

I am still debating whether to update my iPhone 12 Pro max next year. But the rumoured changes is a move in the right direction.

As the dynamic island is simply a gimmick to hide a notch which is still technically there.

eh boring, I think I am ready to try out one of those next gen Fold devices later this year or next year. I have had so many iPhones and iOS has practically been the same for years, it does not really matter what iPhone you use at this point (I am not saying this is a bad thing. Things just hit a wall eventually) but I am ready to try something else for fun

How about getting a new hobby instead?

so dynamic island gimlick is going to last just one year, that's exactly the amount of time public need to get tired of this make up for the blank pill in your screen.

I would love to see an iPhone with a fingerprint sensor on the side and a full screen, I bet you all the money I'm carry right now on my left pocket that the vast majority would choose just

"take the phone and voile! already unlocked in home screen"
VS
"take the phone, look at it, swipe, and yes! you are there!"

I mean, holding your phone in your pocket to taking it out, unlocking it in the trip to your face is impossible to beat vs face ID and the extra step swipe. PLUS you only would have a punch hole in the screen.

"but a fingerprint reader in the side of the phone!!?? that sounds weird!! who holds the phone from the side?...." 101% of the population on Earth and pretty sure that even in other planets.

OK, OK, Face ID is fast enough and you are got use to it.... I get it, but as Steve Jobs said "public doesn't know what they want, you have to decide for them"

Why one year? The space between the pill and hole now is already artificially black, there’s nothing preventing them from having a pill shaped space that’s also artificially black around a hole camera.

Wow, people, what is so hard to understand? Dynamic Island isn't going away and nor is the visibility of the front facing camera. It'll probably be a hole punch like we've seen on many other phones. I can't help but feel many either over think things or under think anymore...

The all-screen year will be the next large jump, and catalyst for upgrades.

After that, then what?

Sir you're in a rumors site
I know, i appreciate that. I Like to know will be “around the corner” for sure, especially with software and fixes etc I Just did not expect rumours about hardware two years in advance, I just need to ignore it or stop coming on. I know

Well it's kind of an interesting speculation. Apple creates this wiz bang island feature as an innovative way to distract you from an unsightly holdover while display technology evolves. If they now have the capability to ditch this big unsavory pill thing, what do they do with that distraction to which users have now become accustomed? I'm sure they'll have an elegant approach but we can only speculate what that might be.

Makes sense. Narrower island in 2024, no island 2026 on the Pro (2027 all models). That’s 5 years for the Dynamic Island, same lifespan as the notch.

Hopefully we see tighter radii and thinner bezels by 2026. ALL display would be nice - each upgrade is feeling smaller. 12PM > 14PM is barely noticeable to me.

Also, you forgot to mention the new anti-gravity button planned for iPhone 16 pro, which will be available on all models of iPhone 17.
