What are the chances that cases with *metal camera rings* will scratch the plateau on the 17 Pro?

I'm not sure I like the feeling of metal on metal in the first place, and I've seen several cases using metal (Lonli, Mujjo, Andar, etc.).

One review of a Mujjo case on Amazon already claims the color on their plateau was scuffed by the case.

That was such a great case in years past. Hopefully they’ve fixed the recent issues and restored it to its former glory. 😊
Not sure if I want to order the black Symmtery or not. Everyone says real weak Magsafe, no alignment magnet ETC.
Guess I can always return if it sucks real bad. I just have a feeling it's going to suck.

That Phone Rebel scares the hell out of me with that huge metal plateau cover, metal screws ETC. I'm passing on Phone Rebel this year.

I’m passing on any case with metal camera rings this year. Imagine getting dirt stuck between two metal pieces… yikes. Also just the plain metal on aluminum is bound to rub off the coating at some point. Guess we’ll see over time.

On the Air, the Andar Aspen has a metal ring but it doesn’t come in contact with the phone. Not sure if that’s also true for the Pro/Max.

i have the ghost on my air and its a great case. i had one last year for the 16 pro and it didn’t have any screen protection. on the air it has just enough. i can lay my phone face down and the screen protector doesn’t touch the table. but i have to get something else. or maybe get a skin. seeing specks of dust inside the case drives me crazy. i can deal with the fingerprints but when i see dust inside, i can’t stop thinking about it. i remove the case and blow it out but they reappear. everything else about the case i love.
I am the same way about the dust inside clear cases. The Ghost is a great case but that really bothered me as well. I got the Caudabe Synthesis with the frosted back and I’m enjoying it much better.

Does anyone have a photo of the ESR Black Frosted case with the new iPhone 17 Pro?

17 Pro silver in ESR frosted black case.

Got my caudabe synthesis frost for the 17 pro with ember buttons.

This case is ALMOST perfect. It’s a little bit bulky for me, I wish the screen lip was a tiny bit smaller. I might try the dbrand ghost as it looks a bit thinner, but I really like the frosted look of the synthesis compared to the glossy ghost.

Does anyone know any other frosted cases slimmer than the synthesis? Should I just suck it up and deal with the bulk? It does seem quite protective though.

Phone Rebel will have a frosted back (with a built in ring stand). Not yet ready for preorder though

its really only an issue on the black air though
I think whatever happened to his phone was bound to happen whatever the color of the phone.

Sure it would have been less noticeable on the lighter finishes particularly silver but still would have been a scratch there regardless.

Off topic but speaking of black finish, I miss the DLC space black finish from the Apple Watch that finish was so hard to scratch.

Here is the answer why the buttons in your new Sheath case are loose as a goose, stick up too high and rattle around:

It’s funny that they say this: “… all independent buttons for any case will have a little rattling”, yet I had two of their cases last year and neither had rattling buttons. Hopefully the fix will silence your buttons, as opposed to just making them “have a little rattling”… lol.

What a cluster F Caudabe is this year.

Here is their statement from 3 days ago saying that all 17 buttons are the same, which is wrong.
I take the buttons from the Synthesis Frost (which are perfect) and put them in the Sheath and they are loose as a goose, rattle and stick up too high  The stock buttons that come in the Sheath are also bad.
