Arc came through with flying colors, only a day later than promised. They used OnTrac, which in my experience has always been pretty good. Compared to the dismal shipping and communication I’ve experienced with a few other companies this year, I certainly can’t complain.

The fit and finish are somewhat improved over last year. The polish seems a bit better, and the fit is definitely tighter and more precise. I also prefer the symmetrical look over the asymmetrical design of the 16PM version.

This “case” is always light, but at 17 grams this may be the lightest version so far (the 16PM version was 18+ grams depending upon the model). On the Air, along with a 12 gram screen protector (Ultraglass), the total package is 194 grams. Amazing. In the hand it feels like an iPod Touch.

To look at it, I’d assume this combination is super fragile, but as tests have shown it’s actually quite a tough phone. Combined with the 10 foot drop protection provided by the Arc Pulse, I’m not feeling the need to baby it. That said, I certainly don’t want to drop it on a pile of rocks or down a staircase… lol.

I have a feeling this is going to be my most used case this year (it was on my 16PM). It provides such a unique experience: full access to the raw phone, 10 feet of drop protection, and light as a feather. I’m pretty stoked.

Looks very nice. But the "10 feet drop protection" is a bold claim, especially if you drop it and it lands on its side or the unprotected edges, it'll most definitely dent or scratch.

Agreed, hence my comment about not wanting to drop it on a pile of rocks or down a staircase. 😊

It is worth noting that all “military grade” cases are tested on flat surfaces, so damage can and does occur even with full coverage cases.

I've now tried at least *30* different cases on my iPhone 17 Pro since last month, and the only one I'm somewhat happy with is the Spigen Rugged Armor MagFit (which also looks to be the highest-rated name-brand iPhone 17 Pro case on Amazon, with an average rating of 4.7 out of 5).

Apple's TechWoven doesn't fit right. It's too loose. The corners of my phone pop out too easily. That means the case provides zero fall protection on the corners. On the flip side, most leather cases (or even "vegan leather") that I've used are too tight, with many cases bowing from the poor fitment. This includes everything from Belemay, which after testing 4 different cases of theirs makes me think they are simply a garbage company with bad manufacturing and/or zero quality control (many of their cases have magnets in random locations, making them impossible to use with any MagSafe accessory).

Everything from "Smartish" has been a joke. They call their cases stuff like "Gripzilla" or "Gripmonk", but then use the absolute smoothest material possible on the backs of their cases, which, surprise, provides NO grip.

I thought I had a winner with the Aulumu A17 Rugged case, but it has both Volume buttons and the Action Button lumped together under one big piece of plastic on the side. Just one long bar, with no way to differentiate which is which by touch since they are all flush with each other. I shouldn't have to rub my finger up and down the side of the phone, trying to figure out which button controls sound.

There seems to be a ton of cases that have clear or translucent HARD backs on them. Besides not offering any grip, these can also feel somewhat greasy to me. And just like the feeling of silicone, this is quite unpleasent.

1) Some cases have good fit. I like them to slip on easily and snap securely on all 4 corners. This ensures good drop protection.

2) Some cases have good grip. Textured backs (not textured sides) ensure they don't slide out of my hand. I don't hold my cases by the sides. I have 3 fingers on the back and a pinky underneath.

3) Some cases have good button layouts. They shouldn't stick out too far, and they shouldn't be flush with the case.

The Spigen Rugged Armor MagFit isn't perfect, but it's basically the least sucky in all of the above.

I was hoping to have the Caudabe Sheath by now, but that company seemed to have totally slept through the iPhone 17 launch. (It looks like they won't be catching up with orders until November when they should have had them all ready by September.)

After I saw this, I decided to return Nomad case and stick another 2 weeks with Apple till Arc come. Can't wait for it!

BTW. I finally found the heaviest case 😄

You really should stop ordering from them until such point they have stock readily available 😂

Must be exhausting ordering, chasing the orders, being let down and then cancelling all the time.
I know lol. Both me and Caudabe refuse to learn from our mistakes.

I would have kept the order but i fly out next week and if i dont get it before that then it will be too late.

You have a defective tech woven case if it’s popping out at that corners that easily. Try another.

My issue with th TW case, which I really like, is that it holds dirt. Might just be my black one, but I notice a lot of dirt/grime
On mine due to the texture.
Really? I have the black one as well and I haven’t noticed any issues with dirt. Anything that gets on the case easily wipes off from my experience
