It fits roughly the same as the previous version for the iPhone 16 series. I’ll attach a screenshot of the fit on last year model to give you an idea.

Honestly, when using the phone it never interfered with anything. But paying $70-80 for a screen protector and having it block a few pixels is insane.
Just got a reply back from Shellrus and this is what they said:

I got my Hoda Sapphire today and already installed it. The fit is perfect. The alignment tray also. But I did not remember that Sapphire is that shiny. It reflects like crazy compared to my regular Torras screen Protector.

I will leave it on for the next couple of days and switch to the OrigArmor as soon as it arrives.

If you still have the Hoda installed, any issues with pixels being blocked?

Is there a protector (preferably film, but glass is fine) that covers the painted part of the 17 Pro plateau without covering the camera lenses, that's also compatible with Apple's silicone case?

Edit: I think I found one: https://www.slickwraps.com/collecti...hone-17-pro-max-camera-bar-plateau-clear-skin

Edit2: So according to reddit the company above is super scammy and the products, if they arrive, are no good. They were also banned from reddit. I may still order the skins and see if they actually get mailed but would prefer to order from a reputable company, so I'm still looking.
I ordered from https://www.xtremeskins.co.uk/. Hasn’t arrived yet so not sure how good they are or aren’t.

If you select your phone then choose “custom” design, you can order just the camera plateau pieces. The BOGOF also works.

Wasn’t sure what would be best so ordered a transparent slick, transparent matte and orange one.

In the past I used aluminium covers I found in AliExpress that had no lens covering. I’ve tried looking for them for the 17 Pros but so far could only find a black one. I didn’t want anything that covered the lenses and I don’t want it in black so might look at it again in a few weeks. Here’s the black one -

Edit: This listing looks to be the same thing with no lens covering, with the 17 Pro colours available. https://a.aliexpress.com/_msu6Ua9

Going to order one in orange and see how I go compared to those skins.

my Spigen AluminaCore (installed on the iphone 17 straight out of the box, launch day) now has scratches all over the place, including over the front camera. i can't figure out how this happened as i never put anything else in my pants pocket with the phone. and i've used spigen screen protectors on 3 or 4 generations of phones now, and never had a problem or a scratch until this one.

are these defective or? very surprised. plus the rainbow thing at the edge kind of bugs me.
Those scratches did not magically appear from nowhere. You had to do something that caused this.

I tried the Hoda Sapphire this year as I was always very disappointed with Shellrus in the last 2 years. It does not block pixels but I has not happy with the reflection of the sapphire protector. Once you go with one with the AR Coating, you don`t want to go back.

FloLab released their 3D edge for the 17 series

I have the Torras OrigArmor on and it fits great, but I miss the better glare reduction and being able to see the screen with polarized sunglasses on.

my point being that i've used generations and generations of these spigen protectors and never seen any kind of scratch let alone several as are now on my 17pro. and obviously with a new iphone i'm babying it more than normal.

of course something caused the scratches but given my history with phones and spigen protectors, something must be wrong with these new ones. they are apparently way too soft.

Here’s hoping either hoda or Shellrus will drop a sapphire screen protector with an AR coating.
I don’t think they ever will. That costing can scratch and the whole point of their protectors is no scratches. Wishful thinking.

I’d snag the Hoda but they slap their logo on the screen protector like imos

Is he talking about the alcohol wipe used to clean the screen or the adhesive on the back of the screen protector?

I didn't use any alcohol wipes before installing mine, peeled off the factory protector and install the screen protector straight away.

He has to be talking about the rubbing alcohol that comes in the wipes they send with the screen protectors.
