My replacement Torras OrigArmor arrived today. I’m going to continue to use the ESR Corning until it cracks and then change to the Torras.
That logo ON the screen protector is a total deal breaker. Even if it cost a dollar and was the best protector ever made. That's absolutely bizarre. I've never seen that before. So I had previously been rocking the Torras OrigArmor on my 17 Pro Max, and it’s one of the best. Good anti-reflective, edge coverage, and no light bleed or blocked pixels. However, if there’s something my OCD couldn’t stand, it’s how easy it was to get micro-scratches, so I ended up tearing it off and searched for something that satisfy my OCD…sapphire.
I got the Shellrus because that’s what I used on my previous iPhone, but alas, it was a big disappointment when I found it blocked pixels, and there were light bleeding around the edges. So back in the box it goes and returning it.
I then discovered Hoda, from some members here, and another company called Blueo. However, Hoda was way too expensive at $90+ USD, so I went ahead and got the Blueo Sapphire from AliExpress for ~$60. Here are the highlights I’ve found:
PROS
CONS
- Great edge coverage, about the same as the OrigAmor
- Barely any edge screen exposed as its practically right up to the edge of my Caudabe Sheath lip, so I suspect dust getting underneath is minimal
- Practically scratch-proof (OCD cured)
- Oleophobic coating is top-notch, resisting fingerprints very well
- Case-friendly with most cases that doesnt overlap the screen (rockin it with the Caudabe Sheath)
- Alignment tray made the install perfectly centered
- No blocked pixels or light bleed
To conclude, I know Sapphire screen protectors might not be for everyone due to its cost and brittleness, but for anyone in the market for one, I hope this review and photos help!
- Blueo branding at bottom right is blindingly visible, wished it was none like the Shellrus, or a darker color text to make it less conspicuous
- Not anti-reflective, so will be hard to see the screen in bright sunlight
- Edges not 3D-curved like the OrigAmor, it’s flat like the rest of the screen due to it being Sapphire, so it’s harder to bend
- More brittle to cracks and shatter

I agree the branding is atrocious but my guess is part of it has to do with brand protection from copycats and advertisement to drive sales. But the Blueo is not has bad as shown in the photo. It’s barely noticeable when the screen is on, and you would have to eye directly at the branding to even see it.That logo ON the screen protector is a total deal breaker. Update, has a couple scratches already lol my pockets must be made out of sandpaperJust an update on my new origarmor, no scratches on this bad boy so far, been rocking it since Friday i think. If it makes it till this coming Friday with no scratches then the first one i got was definitly from a defective batch
Oh damn.Update, has a couple scratches already lol my pockets must be made out of sandpaper
Yes I have the OrigArmor and the corners are chopped off when doing the cut-off pixel test.No issues for me either.
As someone has said above, definitely the OA one?
