I ended up getting Torras OrigArmor for base iPhone 17 and phone fits perfectly in the tray + glass fits perfectly on the screen so I don’t understand why they don’t advertise it as a protector for both.
It had micro-scratches on the first day 20mins after applying, but that didn’t seem like such a big deal. Other than that it seems like it picks up fingerprints fairly easily and anti-reflective coating isn’t as good as Flolab. But finally having a glass that is 3D and doesn’t have light bleed/doesn’t cover pixels is really good.

I’ve had the Torras OrigArmor for my 17 Pro Max for about a month or so now and I have noticed alot of micro scratch marks on the screen protector. I only have my phone in my pocket and nothing else though somehow it is getting these scratches so easily. What a disappointment.

I really wish there was a company that would come out with a screen protector without any issues already.

Is there any new screen protectors that I don’t know about that has:

- No pixel screen cut off from black borders
- Good anti glare
- Good oleophobic coating
- Doesn’t scratch easily like Torras
- Smooth and responsive

I think Flolab 3D is better if you get a good unit, I’ve had Flolab “case friendly” variant that seemed better glass quality than OrigArmor, that one did not have micro scratches and oleophobic coating seemed better. But I’m not ordering from them again because their customer service is awful, I had to start a chargeback and after my issues started I noticed online I’m not the only one they ghosted eventually. I don’t care if I get a faulty product, but if the company doesn’t handle well or at all what happens next, I’m out. So I decided I’d rather circle trough 2 cases a year from some other brand if needed. I tried Caudabe Elite AR but that glass is thick, doesn’t cover the edges and the AR wasn’t as good. Maybe eventually some other company comes up with some good AR protector as well..

Had mine for about the same time with just paper money in my pocket with it and just one very tiny mark on mine. Also lay a computer mouse on my screen numerous times, no issues. I don’t know what kind of pants you wear, but my protector is doing its job and I’m very happy with it.

Just like everyone else, you’ll get the micro scratches eventually. Nothing to do with what pants we wear, what we have in them, etc. It’s the coating on the protector itself. It’s cheap and not durable. Everything else about the protector is good.

I’ve never even put mine in my pocket, just the occasional light wiping and there were already micro scratches with a week.

I wipe my down every couple of days with a microfiber and with only one very tiny blemish you can hardly see, I have no micro scratches that I can notice visually. Have no idea what you guys are using or how hard you’re using it. But I like this product.

Id be just happy with a screen protector that doesn't cut off pixel area of the screen and doesn't have a rainbow effect. anything?

If you have an Apple store nearby just get a Belkin there. It's aligned perfectly, no bubbles, no rainbow, no black border, no pixels cut off, plus lifetime (I think) warranty.

I like the Belkin installed at the Apple Store too.

Is it true that if I have a base 17, screen protectors designed for the 17 Pro will also fit it perfectly?

Or should I only look at ones specially marketed/labeled for the 17?

Same exact screen. Only reason some aren’t advertised for both is because some of the installation trays are made to fit the camera bar but not the camera module of the regular 17.

On Reddit, someone said they’re slightly different.

So I looked it up, and they’re correct.

According to the official specs, the iPhone 17 measures 149.6 × 71.5mm.

The iPhone 17 Pro, in contrast, is 150 × 71.9mm.

So there’s very slight differences in their height and width, which might affect how a screen protector fits.

This also explains Torras’ official response here and here.

Got my hands on the Flolab 3D NanoArmour ONETIME PRO to try on my wife’s new iPhone 17 Pro. I had high expectations for this screen protector based on Brians_tech video.

At almost double the price as the Torras OrigArmor, I would say unless you care about micro-scratches and free lifetime warranty (of which you have to pay $10 for shipping for each replacement), get the OrigArmor. The fit and coverage is identical to the OrigArmor:

However, there are a couple of issues.

First, the bubbles after application was very easy to remove with the included squeegee, except for the big bubble at the bottom right corner. This took me a good 20 mins to apply constant pressure and massaging. I thought I may crack the glass with the amount of pressure I applied, and some small bubbles kept coming back, but eventually it disappeared.

Secondly, the black borders block the L-corners of the screen ever so slightly. It’s hard to get an exact straight-on photo, but all 4 corners block the same amount, which tells me it was aligned perfectly. Brians_tech indicated fully visible L-corners on both the 17 PM and Air. I don’t know if mine is a defect, or if the 17 Pro version is slightly smaller than the screen. Not sure if it’s worth the hassle to get a replacement from Amazon.

Thirdly, there is some light bleed at the edges, which the Torras OrigArmor does not have. This doesnt make sense to me since coverage is exactly the same on both screen protectors.

In terms of micro-scratches, I’ll report back after some usage. I know my Torras OrigArmor developed them very easily.

Now unless someone has this installed on their iPhone 17 Pro, and can confirm the pixels are not blocked, and there is no light bleed, I’ll assume it’s a manufacturing defect and will keep this on for now until I need a replacement.

How did you get the camera to show you those four L-corners on the iPhone 17 Pro? I thought Apple got rid of them on iOS 26?

I couldn’t find a dedicated thread, so I’ll try asking here: do you use any protection for the rear cameras? Since there are three of them and they’re quite large, I’m always afraid that when I place the phone down (I use a case) they might break or get hit. I’m also worried about the aluminum around the cameras—it’s similar to that of my old XR, and in fact the color had chipped off in some spots there (on my XR). I’m afraid the same thing might happen with the 17 Pro Max.

No, don`t use them. They make your picture worse. It reflects more light and almost all Lens Protectors break and scratch easily. The Lenses are out of sapphire and won`t scratch under normal circumstances.

The sapphire laminate apple uses for the camera lens is quite durable but if you're worried i'd just pick a case with a slight bump around the camera island for protection

Adding plastic cover to your lens is likely to impact image quality with next to no protection
