As Sal09 said, that does not have the anti reflective coating, and recommended ESR, I cancelled mine and got the ESR

I find all anti reflective ones do is make blacks look grey in daylight and any reflections become bright blurs.

Can anyone who has both Torras and ESR confirm which has the slimmest black border please???

Here's Torras vs ESR bordering. To me, the border size seems the same BUT the Torras has slightly more coverage.

When I put both of them in front of my 16 Pro, which I believe is the exact same size as the 17 Pro, the ESR seems like it will ever so slightly eat into the actual pixels. And Torras one seems like it will have to line up absolutely perfectly for it to allow 100% of the pixels to show through.

In all the screen protectors I have applied, including with alignment trays, I have never had one lined up perfectly so wouldn't have confidence in the Torras one, myself.

Is the Torras the one with the notch for the speaker cutout? And these are 17 versions?

Did anyone order the Astropad AR protector that was advertised on MR a few weeks ago? Mine is supposed to be delivered in a couple of days.

I’ve been using a mothca matte glass in my 16pro but I’m tempted to go full naked on my air. My main reason for using matte is I have a deep hatred of fingerprints on my screen.

Anyone have any other favorite matte protectors in case I break down and use one again?

Yes Torras is the one with the notch and they are both for labeled as for 17 Pro.
What’s funny is Torras themselves insist that the picture on Amazon with the bump out cover over the speaker is actually correct. I just opened mine and it’s not covered it’s a notch like yours. Which i actually prefer as covering the speaker seems wrong to me. Just funny they insist their own product is different than it actually is. Hopefully this new applicator keeps the protector centered well and their first attempt at AR coatings are decent.

My 2 issues with Torras has been how reflective they are and how thick they are making the case lip less effective. That and cutting into the screen a bit. Flolabs really nailed fit with their 3D edge last year when it finally released. Makes no sense why they don’t have that for the 17 series except their privacy version.

The Torras OrigArmor is what I’ve been using for the past couple of months and no complaints. Trying the AstroPad next if I end up getting the 17PM.

Have you tried the OrigArmor? It’s super thin and reflections are much improved.

I reached back out to FloLabs since they never answered if the 3D edge screen protector was coming for the 17 pro max in my previous email and this time they answered that they did have plans for a 3D edge screen protector for the iPhone 17 pro max but they did not give any type of timeline for it. I bought a Benks protector to get me through until FloLabs puts the 3D edge protectors out..

I figured they would. Still dumb they don’t have it ready given the screen size and edges are the same as last year so they know all. They have to do is change the application tray.

I’d be happy to stick with the torras if the AR coating is good. But not having rainbows with sunglasses is a big one for me. Torras has the better oleophobic coating

I got this Torras one. Is this a bad one? If so can you link me to the good one (USA)?

Thanks, I'll return mine, but what's the difference between the two? They make it so hard to tell.

This is the one I always get (2 pack):

But maybe regret not getting the OrigArmor one, although it is only 1 in the pack.

Two concerns with this one. One, it comes with only one screen. Two, it’s very expensive for that one screen, and you have to worry about a case for it I guess. One reviewer said you put it into a case in the screen lift ups.

I never mind paying more for glass that I am depending on to protect my $1000+ phone and not impede the screen quality. $30 seems more than worth it if I put it on once and done.

OK, but what happens if you screw the install procedure? Some people do, and I know many do not. I like to have two screens thank you very much.

Yeah I’ve done it. Again it’s just me but I’ll pay for a protector that does what I want. Compared to the cost of the phone its nothing

The coverage is by far the best of the ones I’ve tried and the AR coating makes a big difference.
It’s pricey but nowhere near the Flolab, plus returns are much easier with Amazon. Application was spot on. IMO it’s worth the premium.
