Just received the TORRAS OrigArmor and ESR Armorite (non Corning version) from Amazon, both listed specifically for the 17 Pro. Wow people weren’t kidding about the size of the TORRAS packaging. My mouth literally opened when I took it out of the Amazon packaging.

TORRAS OrigArmor:
- the one I received has a dip for the earpiece for those wondering, even though the Amazon listing has the earpiece sticking upwards. Has a bit more coverage than the ESR protector I have on my 16 Pro.
- With the black bordering, the TORRAS glass would need go on EXACT to not cover any pixels (assuming 16 Pro and 17 Pro have the exact same screen dimensions).
- I do NOT notice any rainbowing with my polarized sunglasses.

ESR Armorite:
- is exactly the same size as my existing ESR 16 Pro screen protector but this 17 Pro version has black bordering. When I line up this glass to my 16 Pro, the bordering would slightly cover a few pixels. Probably negligible but wanted to comment on it.
- I DO see rainbowing with my polarized sunglasses.

I should be receiving the ESR Accessory Glass by Corning tonight so we’ll see how that version compares but I’m guessing the sizing and border would be in line with the ESR Armorite.

That being said, does anyone have experience with returning a screen protector to Amazon if it’s used? I’m leaning toward the TORRAS at this point but a single piece of glass at $35 is a huge jump from a 3 pack at $20/$30. My concern is with it not going on perfectly.

I've never used the install trays for any screen protectors because I fear the clip on on the edges will scratch the phones sides especially since it's aluminum. Am I just overworrying? Seems like all the new ESR 9H+ tempered glasses forces you to use the install tray. Anyone on the same boat as me?
No, you have a valid point. My previous Samsung aluminum frames would mark slightly using these type of install trays.

Waiting on your first impressions as I'm looking at buying those ones for my 17 Pro.

Got the ESR Accessory Glass by Corning. All the screen protectors I got have a film on both the front and glass so can't get a good feel for any differences but it appears identical to the ESR Armorite in size and black bordering.

I still have a concern with the bordering on the ESR ones cutting into the screen every so slightly. I'm guessing it'll be imperceptible but not ideal.

I still have the question if anyone seeing this has experiencing returning a used screen protector to Amazon before. I really want to go with the TORRAS one but just have concerns if I don't like the way it's installed, because of the price.

That isn't the version they released laster on with the full 3D edge to edge fit. It's the older design which I had and it was not good. I have the 3D version on my 16PM now so I emailed them to ask and they verified it's not the same.
I canceled it and changed my mind. Went with this Benks instead.

BENKS Matte Screen Protector for iPhone 17 Pro Max [2 Pack], Full Coverage Tempered Glass, Anti-Glare & Anti-Fingerprint, Easy Installation with Auto Dust Removal, Bubble-Free https://a.co/d/8JuhHze

I’m a big fan of screen protectors especially the belkin ones u get installed at an Apple Store. Well worth the slight higher cost. But as someone mentioned in another forum, does it take away from the reduced glare of this new screen on the iPhone 17

As a comparison between the two in terms of thickness and edges, what can you tell us? Which one is thinner and which has more rounded edges?

I’m really curious to see if those of you who got the 3D full coverage screen protectors, like the torras or benks ones, will have any issues with incompatible cases and have lifting corners. For me it has been a problem in the 16 pro max with some cases especially with the paragon and phone rebel.

Get Esr .. apparently this one doesn’t have anti reflective coating
Link please? I cancelled that order.

Is it this? If this is the one you recommended to grab instead, I bought it

I’ve used Torras on the 15 and 16 Pro and thought they were excellent. I ordered UltraGlass this year, but doubting that decision. Part of me want to order the Torras (last year they gave you a 2 pack though)

I put the two ESR ones side by side and ran my fingers across them and felt zero difference in thickness, but they do have the front and back film on them. The edges appear to be the same also, just slightly rounded on each.

I peeled the film on the front corner of each to try to get a sense of the anti-reflective feature on them but couldn’t see a difference between the two. I don’t know the proper way to compare AR though since I put these next to my current phone and ipad that don’t have AR screen protectors and they seemed to reflect my ceiling light equally.

But I’ll probably stick with the ESR Corning version. The difference between 3 for $20 or $30 doesn’t matter too much for me so I’ll just go for the more expensive option with the thought that it actually is better even if I can’t tell. I wanted to go with the seemingly more premium TORRAS glass but the feature making it edge-to-edge doesn’t appear to be case friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to compare them. also what about the edges? are they "rounded" the same way?
I'm asking because i cant find here the Corning version, only the Armorite 7x unfortunately. Curious if it's worth the hassle to find some parcel forwarding service to deliver the Corning version here or just stick with the Armorite.

I edited my original post to add in that the edges appear to be the same between them.

Hopefully there is a true difference between these because other than the packaging pictures and colors, they both appear to be identical.

OK, Torras for my 17PM. Customer Support promised that the new protectors are adjusted to the new, longer earpiece.
We will see...
