If they don't put new battery technology (like all new Chinese phones from this year) then good luck with the battery life on this "Air" thing. How long it'll last? 3h screen on time from a full charge?
I really don't understand the point of that phone.
Like is 8mm too thick for people?
Yes, that is way too thick if you want to add a protective cover that really protects such a fragile item.

Well, it’s about time! Lol. All these brilliant people at Apple and this is the only functional design they can come up with? Jeez. Come on, Apple. Their whole marketing with the iPhone 16 series is AI and all its features aren’t available yet. Lol.

those are some nice colors! Agh, just remembered, I need to clean my induction hob...

19 inch MacBook? but no 27 inch iMac?
Yeah, they should go all in: foldable 27 inch iMac pro! :D

Am I the only one that thinks a 19" laptop is comically large?
Last time I flew, the person in front on me was trying to claim their 32” monitor was a “personal” item. The monitor was in a big plain canvas bag, half sticking out. (Not a box)

Well at least they didn’t claim it was an emotional support pet.

PS The airline (Delta) did NOT let him on the plane with the monitor. He turned around and just left. Still, I don’t understand how he got all the way to boarding gate.

Still don‘t get that 19inch laptop. My limiting factor for a laptop is mostly weight, which will be increased by the folding mechanism. My pain point with laptops next to screen size is the unergonomic position - which the foldable laptop will not improve.
So why would you buy this.

A foldable iPad could make more sense - but I think the 13inch is rather ideal already.
Please just allow it to run MacOs in a container …

Disappointed that the Air will have downgraded features. They should focus on making the flagship phones as thin and light as possible with new battery tech and more efficient processors.. I predict an expensive, gimped Air will sell below their expectations, just like the “Plus” models.
Not sure - I might dig the slimness. I really do not do a lot of photos and the processor is powerful enough since years.

I once saw a classroom room full of people watching a video on an ordinary sized laptop sitting on a desk. So a market for a portable presentation device for a classroom might exist. It would be a "Luggable" rather than a laptop. The computer equivalent of a boombox, perhaps?

Why is Apple facing major challenges with developing a foldable iPhone, including with the device's hinge and the protective layer that covers the screen, yet competitors have their products on the market now?!

I want a foldable iPhone and I've been waiting for 8 frigging years!

I think there is a phenomenon where new products mature after a while, and have less variability. Cars, VCRs, PCs and Laptops. You see more variability early on, and then less after a while. I think this is happening with cell phones too. They are all just black slabs with a camera bulge in the back. Changing anything creates more problems than it fixes.

You’re not alone. All I want is a flip iPhone, and also I have been waiting for it since 2019. I need a large screen in a small and very pocketable device.

Obviously Apple has taken its time because we can be sure that they have been perfectioning the folding screens to not have an ugly and notorious crease.

Now I’m almost sure that the so-called “iPhone Air” will be indeed our so expected iPhone flip.
