I’d personally rather they had a slightly thicker phone without a protruding camera, and used the space to improve battery life, don’t get the obsession for ultra thin phones with a big wobbly back because of the cameras at all.

I sure hope that's not what it looks like. But it wouldn't be surprising given the absence of Jony Ive.
I guess you are right. Jony Ive had a deep design sense and aesthetic philosophy. After his absence, the Design Team and its leaders at Apple don't have anyone that have these qualities and so may be resorting to design trends that are making headlines in the industry at the moment, including this ridiculous bar/pill design that the Google Pixel introduced on their phones.

It would be a shame if this design were to come to fruition because then, it would mean that Apple's Design Team (at least as it relates to the iPhone) has lost their design/aesthetic philosophy that made their products wholly unique.

I don't want this design to be realized in an iPhone, IMHO. Come up with something unique Apple!

I fail to see the point of "ultra thin." Phones are thin enough the way they are. No one cares if they "save" another 2 millimeters. In fact, if I could get more battery life I would like a phone 2 mm thicker than my 16 Pro Max.

But as I reflect, maybe this is really a prototype for the thinness needed for a foldable phone. But still, I think that is a manufacturing Beta and consumers are not going to care one bit about 2mm.
Replace “no one cares” with “I don’t care” and it’s fixed.

Firstly, what rock did Prosser crawl back out from under? Couldn’t really stomach more than 20 secs of this verbally incontinent self-promotional YT video “leak”. Ugh.

Secondly, I’ve no interest in the iPhone Air but why is nobody mentioning this chancer’s claim (with another render no less) of the 17 Pro design also having this camera ‘bar’? If that’s true (and with this guy, flip a coin) then I’ll be keeping my 15 Pro until iOS 22 or whatever

The design “language” or “philosophy” if you can even call it that, is just further proof of the Peter Principle being rife at Apple Park.

It’s been apparent for a while now that a lot of talent has clearly left the building.

The design team really have been phoning it in for the last half decade or so. Apple have all the resources they desire available, and this is what they potentially deliver.

hahaha, this is a bump on a bump on a bump :D I guess the bump bar is to accommodate faceid. If not, then it is BS. Just o one big lens bump, and add a strap, like they had on the ipod touch 5 :D

I don't care how strong or otherwise amazing Apple claims this to be, this has Bendgate mk2 (or is it mk3?) written all over it.

I will however be buying the new 17 Pro Max, one because I didn't upgrade to the 16 PM for the first time ever and still have my 15 Pro, and two because I quite like this new 'design language', even if it is copying Samsung.

You think that’s crazy, wait until they unfold it and becomes the size of an iPad mini o_O

The design seems to be good. A single camera only is disappointing. Would have liked to have two cameras like the S25 edge. Other than that the new iPhone seems like it will be a good one.
Yup, should have had a camera at each end of this elongated bump, with the flash and microphone in the middle. Two cameras spread so far apart would also let you shoot more realistic-looking spatial photos and videos than the current closely-packed triangular camera layout.

Pixel ripoff, shows Apple can't come up with its own unique design. Having said that I kinda like the black glass bar except we're in 2025 and there's no need for an extra bump just for the lens.
I mean, how many different ways can you design a phone.

I'm completely at ease with the current iPhone design. It doesn't need changing. What does need changing is the quality of software that's on it.

I like it. And with the camera bar across the back, no more wobble when setting it down face down on the table.
There's never been any wobble when you set just about any smartphone face down, since their camera bumps have always been on the back, not on their face.

Wait, maybe that's what you're joking about

Siri, AI, especially....god damn....

I asked Siri for the current time in GMT, and it couldn't even give me a straight answer and it kicked me off to Google Search! Soooooooo bad!!!
