Seeing how this guy reacts positively to something I absolutely hate turns my stomach. I do not want a thinner, bigger phone. I want a smaller, fatter phone. My brand new iPhone 16 doesn't make it through the day on a single charge. And they want me to buy a phone with a BIGGER screen and a SMALLER battery? Please, please, just make a phone with a massive battery and no camera bump.

Anyone else having trouble keeping track of all the different iPhones, past, present, and future? When I first read the headline I could have sworn this phone was already out. Maybe it’s because we are flooded with articles on all the different models day in and day out, or maybe there are just too many in the current product line, but I miss the days when Apple only had one or two products in each segment.

I don't care about this thin crap. It was somewhat cool when Apple was competing with nokia 3310, but now too thin handheld device seems to be more of inconvenience than a feature to look for.

I don't know what problem a thin phone is solving
I do. Some find iPhones rather bulky to carry in the pocket, and a thinner phone would be less bulky. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

That said, I feel that a big camera bump would sort of degrade the value proposition of such a phone. I would personally be willing to take a hit to camera quality to get the whole thing closer to a uniform thickness.

Thinner doesnt make sense anymore. Especially because you have to put on a case anyway because of that ugly bump.

More battery life would be much better though.
Nope, I want thinner. Much nicer to carry around. Especially when wearing a suit. Battery life for me is more than good enough currently and there are wireless charging options almost everywhere (i.e. in my car)

After watching the reviews of the new Oppo X8 Ultra last week, Apple should legitimately be ashamed over how far behind it's become in terms of tech and mechanical design. They've been skating off the power of the A series chip for far too long, and gimping them even further for the sake of thinness is ridiculous.

For the next six months every tech blog is going to be filled with comments talking about how dumb this is, how they should be making a thicker phone with a bigger battery, and how making a thin iPhone spells doom for Apple.

And in two years every new phone is going to look exactly like this.

I've seen this guy's videos before, and I think they're terrible. This is a 2-minute video, charitably, that he stretches out for an ad (which I understand, it's part of his business, but it's a waste of time for watchers). Show us the measurements, compare the dummy phone's thinness to the other phones, and that's all we need.

Play-bending the dummy, twice, is pointless. It's not made of any of the same materials and has none of the same construction. So why?

Rhetorical question. For clicks is why.

I'm looking forward to holding it in my hands to see how it feels, myself. My 13 Pro feels gigantic to me these days; I want thinner and smaller; I'd love an iPhone Air SE.

Any chance left that the Pro models don't look like this? What a strange decision to bring out an extra thin model next to these bricks.

This is the result of having a corporate spreadsheet guy in charge of Apple - he has no idea what constitutes a "good" product. The Ive-instilled mantra that "thinner is better" lives on, with no evidence that anyone wants a thinner phone or that it enhances usability in any way. On the contrary, a thinner phone is harder to hold, easier to drop, and holds less stored energy (i.e. battery). Thinness is a solution in search of a problem.

I want a thin phone and I think thinner is better. As long as it doesn't have iPhone 6 rounded edges I feel like I'd be able to hold the Air just fine. And do you really think Apple isn't smart enough to figure out the battery? I'm sure it'll last all day.
