To quote a great movie, bend him. I think it's stupid but they will probably sell a bunch. I'll keep my iphone 16, I wish I hadn't sold my green 13 pro.

My phone is definitely thin enough. Why would I want it to be thinner?
I also prefer the current, thicker MBPs to the thinner ones from six years ago: more ports, easier to handle…

Isn’t the thinness kinda pointless with a huge camera bump?

It’s going to rattle when it’s on a flat surface with that.

Ok, better get a case

Oh no, my phone isn’t thin anymore…

Why not design the iPhone with a seamlessly integrated camera instead of that awkward, bulging bump? It sticks out like an unsightly blemish—more zit or wart than sleek tech. A flush, built-in camera would look cleaner, feel better in hand, and bring back the elegance Apple used to be known for.

I'll get one, if for no other reason than for its reportedly significantly lighter weight *

* Assuming the tariff costs don't result in it costing both an arm and a leg.

I think phones are thin enough, too thin and its going to bend. Also many car wireless chargers use a pad and a bigger camera bump is going to cause more charging issue.
The thinnest iPhone I ever had was the 7.

Its battery life was terrible because it was so thin (and because it had a Taptic Engine in it taking up space - remember that?).

Let’s hope things have significantly improved in the last 9 years !

Magically mine will never bend. And I’ll have no idea what the internet people are talking about. Almost as if the internet invents controversy that doesn’t exist out of sheer boredom.
They think cause JerryRigEverything or some other influencer strains to bend the phone and possibly does, that means it can bend. Because we all know thats normal use.

Thinner doesnt make sense anymore. Especially because you have to put on a case anyway because of that ugly bump.

More battery life would be much better though.
First of all, not everyone puts a case on their phone.

Secondly, a thinner phone with a case is still thinner than a thicker phone with a case.

If you don’t like or appreciate thin phones, simply buy something else. However, others do, and even with a case, it will still be thinner than.

Finally, let’s not forget that the original MacBook Air was thicker on one side and had a wedge design. This reflects the original Air design, being thicker on one end for the camera. They could even spin it by making a play like with the original Air, where “the thicker side of the Air is still thinner than the thinner side of other PCs.”

At the end of the day, the vast majority of the body is thinner, and more importantly, from where you grab it, how it feels in your hand. You don’t hold it from the camera module, for crying out loud!

I feel like Apple is painting themselves into a corner.

Their phones are either super thick now or gonna be super thin. And their thin one is going to get really
Really hot during usage.

It feels like they lost sight of what people really need.
What do people really need?

I am genuinely confused at this point. I went to the store the other day at the bequest of my partner to look at upgrading our mini 12s.

Looking at the 16e, 16, and 16pro all felt like steps backward from an aesthetics and usability perspective. It seemed so bad I wondered if the reason the phones are bolted down is so you don't realize what has been happening design-wise until after you buy it. Of the three 16s, the 16e seemed the least off-putting, but next to the 12, it felt less refined, less complete, less desirable. And all this without accounting for the fact that I prefer smaller phones. It was just in the appearace of the product.

So I do genuinely wonder what people really need... as I also glanced at the Pixel fold, and putting Android, screen crease, and of course, size aside... I honestly at least had one immediate (but not necessary) use-case pop into mind for it - opening it up to look at maps when running - seemed a nice size for that... would not watch movies, or read, or anthing else with it... but could maps alone be worth it to me? Maybe not... the watch screen is good enough... for now... Maybe it is time to ditch the phone entirely... As I decide what to do, I might just end up doing that.

His reaction isn't surprising. Back in the day, is there anybody who owned an iPod Touch who did NOT say "this is what I want my iPhone to feel like"??

How about a phone without buggy software. No one cares about making their few mm thick phone thinner.
You don't care ≠ no one cares

I'm pretty sure they've been doing market research for a while and someone cares.
A phone that feels new and cool is easier for marketing than bug fixes. Plus, what are you gonna do, buy an Android phone? Will that be less buggy? Why should they make improvements that don't get them any money?

I am sorry but i don’t care for the Air’s thinness, poor battery life and or single camera. Bring on the 17 Pro Max no matter how monstrous and or hideous it looks.
