Steve Jobs promised (from 8:30 to 8:42 in the video above) macOS/OS X on iPhone 1:
"iPhone runs OS X". That's what he said, that was his words. This was almost two decades ago in 2007.

But we got iPhoneOS, iOS, iPadOS, etc. all of them are just bloated downwatered dumbed down OS X.
We don't need 120hz oversized displays with a notch. The iPhone needs macOS, like Steve Jobs promised.
Unfortunately, that was before the greedy bean-counter, Tim Cook, took over. The fact that iPads essentially run a phone OS has been deservedly lampooned and appears ever-more-ridiculous with each passing generation.

To me the idea of a better display on the standard iPhone makes it so that I can go back to a better looking phone (Well I will say I do like the colors on the new ones, not really liking the metallic)

The only thing that I (Kinda) need on the iPhone is the Standby Mode.

I like looking over and seeing the always on display showing the clock.Unless the Pro gets something amazing next year, If the regular gets this feature next year. I might go back to a standard.

Also. I miss having a Red iPhone

iPhone pro runs at 80hz for at least 90% of the time you use it.

That’s how they apparently get good battery and fool people into buying the pro over the standard.

It only really hits 120 in SOME games and it’s 60hz in safari 😂

No one seems to want to talk about it in tech media and how this variable refresh rate is just an apple marketing scam.

all depends on the task you're doing and it goes by the speed of your finger. if you scroll on social media and use your finger to swipe it is certainly 120hz. will be the same in apps. UI going from page to page it's not going to be full 120hz.

I think this is the best way to help with battery life. running 120hz all the time even when doing basically nothing doesn't make much sense.

The variable rate that slows way down for static displays to save power is real.
Although the 120Hz max rate is only useful for some people in some very limited situations and it’s much more about marketing FOMO than a significant feature.
