There's also LiDAR, larger sensor in the main camera, USB 3.0, 12GB of RAM. It's something. The standard 17 is the best value to feature set PERIOD. It’s 90% a pro phone as it stands right now. $300 for an extra lens and an hour more battery is pretty ridiculous now. Otherwise the 17 and the 17 pro are identical in every respect. And the regular 17 is much lighter in the pocket!
Or has small hands or can't hold a larger phoneI think anyone who uses a mini is either under 25 or a masochist.
What if one has T-Rex hands? /sOr has small hands or can't hold a larger phone
You might be right that the heavy lifting is done by the base iPhone 17, which is what many articles have been saying but arguably based on the actual sales figures. On the other hand, you can't conclusively infer it from the waiting times alone, because they can simply be skewed by a significant misjudgement, from Apple, in predicting which models would have been more popular. Therefore it makes little sense a comparison of "levels of demand" based on the back orders only.Nah, most of the heavy lifting is the base iPhone 17 by Chinese customers.
To put things in perspective, the base model remains back ordered by 5-7 days even today. It's 3 months post-launch. This is iPhone X level of demand.
The iPhone Air obviously received no demand while 17 Pro/Max tapered out about a month ago.
Depends on where you live or roam.Wonder why that is???
The plus phones have never hurt the pro max sales though. It seems that a lot of people who like the largest phone just buy the pro maxWho would have guessed? 256GB storage, ProMotion, 6.3-inch display, no price increase. Basically almost everything the Pro model comes with. Of course the base iPhone 17 is the leader.
The reason why iPhone 17 Plus doesn't exist is because it would threaten 17 Pro Max. The Air only exists as an attempt to raise ASPs by offering less features for $999, not because there's hidden demand for thin phones.
I’m a mac guy….but iphones just don’t excite me, the only reason why I’d get one is for specific iOS apps, which some companies focus on. But otherwise, I’d go android all day long —- it’s just so much more open and customizable. Samsung also puts out nice phones….and they’re cheaper than Apple.

Well that settles it then. I will alert the analysts and tell them to change their projections.I've seen one iPhone 17 (a silver Pro Max) in person since it was released. No one around me seems to care much about upgrading.
People need to stop looking at year over year upgrades. The iphone 17 is not for anyone who owns a 15 or 16. What is the point of upgrading every year? If you are holding your phone for 3-4 years like a normal person, these upgrades are quite impactful. I went from an iPhone X to a 15pro. Do you think I cared that it wasnt much different than 14pro? No. I cared that it was a MASSIVE upgrade over my iPhone X. I will hold onto my 15 pro and probably upgrade for the 20th anniversary edition iPhone.I thought this was the most uninspiring upgrade ever?
Your average iPhone pro customer has it because it’s the “best”. They have no idea why that is or what any of those things are. “3 cameras, it must be better!”There's also LiDAR, larger sensor in the main camera, USB 3.0, 12GB of RAM. It's something.
Don't even wanna mention the extra gpu core and vapor chamber cooling because it's not as important for most people.
Agree, though honestly I do not pay attention to what phones people are using, I'm in SoCal and avoid the crowded spots when I can...Depends on where you live or roam.
See a whole bunch in central florida
Here you go; screenshot from yesterday: 26.1, and this bug is in every messages chat after just a few back-and-forths. A reboot fixes it, for about 10 messages. Annoying as hell! 😩

That's interesting as I write apps for a living and I had someone get in touch just last week complaining about one screen which they couldn't access the lower part of the screen similar to what you are showing us.
I checked on the simulator version of their phone (iPhone 13 running 26.1) and also on my own phone (iPhone 13 Pro Max, 26.1) but couldn't reproduce it.
So it looks like a bug which is hard to reproduce and only affects a small number of users.
I'd suspect something in the phone's Settings configuration (Accessibility maybe?) that triggers this.
Have you changed anything in there from the default settings?
