Yesterday I sorted my old cases and found many old Pitakas for iP13Pro and there were stickers in 2 boxes. I use them for Latercase fitment 😄

I get that Aaron likes them, but they have been a disappointment on a lot of levels. Many far better & less expensive cases imo.
We don’t know how less expensive cases are with protection. All we know that the Sheath is #2 for protection on Aaron’s list.

Literally the only reason why I was finally persuaded to get one, the drop protection and the case not being a big bulky mess. It’s comfortable to hold and I know my phone will for the most part not get damaged.

I'm a sucker for leather cases. Nomad on sale on Amazon in the UK. Ordered.

Maybe- I’ve found other cases, good enough for protection. I don’t need 15 feet, when I’m 6 foot tall
But maybe you just need waist or chest height drop protection which is why the Sheath is #2 on Aaron’s list. At least it’s a proven fact versus “I’ve found other cases, good enough for protection”.

Proven fact? That doesn’t exist in drop protection. 1 millimeter off in a drop, and the phone is cracked. Also- Apple care is a good option.

Feel free to enjoy Caudabe/Aaron etc…. There are far better options IMO for less $

What are the better options that are proven to provide drop protection?

Personally, and remember I have a base 17, I like the torras guardian for $24, I like the Moft movas better, specifically at $42. The ZAGG Sedona is roughly the same price, and I liked that far better.

Again- if you’re on the Caudabe bandwagon, enjoy it. For me, they’ve been a huge disappointment. The sheath of the 17 being the worst of the bunch.

A couple of years ago, one of the old regulars here dropped his phone in a Sheath literally 2 feet where it hit the edge of a drawer and damaged the phone. My point is, controlled drop tests are great, and they’re the best info we have, but even the top rated cases sometimes fail to protect because the real world isn’t flat. The best protection is always AC+, combined with a phone with a rigid frame (preferably steel or titanium).

100% correct. I can appreciate what Aaron does, but 1 slight change in the trajectory of the drop, the results of the drop change.

Additionally, I don’t remotely understand the love that some of these brands get. Unless you work for them or they give you free stuff, I really don’t get the “loyalty”

Really liking the Ultraguard, however I guess the only downside so far is the plastic camera protector frame. Noticed a small ding on it, not sure if it was there already or I have picked that up using it today. I did use it on my MagSafe in the car.

The apple silicone had a super sharp usb c cutout on prior versions, and I see that mentioned a bit for the tech woven.

Does it seem to be comparable or less noticeable than the silicone or prior year versions?

Any white + black cases for the 17 Pro Max?

The Nomad Sport was a favorite for my 15

And the Speck Candyshell grip for the 16

But I can't find anything for the 17 yet. Caudabe Moonstone would be great if the TPU parts were black and not grey.
