I thought everyone did this. I do this with every case and never had a problem getting any of them off this way, so it always is crazy when I see people saying they have trouble taking cases off.
I also remove most cases from the top, but not all cases are easy to remove like that. I have some here that I need to remove from the bottom: The Tank, the Grip and the Beats regular for example.

Did anyone here actually try the Pitaka Cairn or Summa (Pro Guard/Ultra Guard) cases? They don’t seem very popular.
Seems like Pitaka isn’t as popular as they used to be? To me they made their shopping experience on their website confusing with the confusing category names.

After consulting with their team, Caudabe confirmed that the four sets of Sheath 2.5 buttons they sent are the latest design and nothing wrong with them. They sit flush with the Sheath case sides, making them pretty much unusable 😡

I will think twice in the future about doing business with Caudabe.

Have 4 cases that I recently purchased, maybe I'll try to return them all? Plus 4 sets or useless Sheath buttons.

Hi Hooterville

I’ve received a grey open sheath this week for my 17 pro, and thought I’d get the silver buttons to match the iPhone, but think I’m suffering exactly the same issue as you.

The standard grey ones are fine, but the 2.5 silver sit flusher to the sheath than the originals, it’s still useable but feels so much better with the originals.

There’s also a visual difference in their thickness. Did Caudabe ever provide a suitable response? I emailed them, but only yesterday.

Jane emailed me back stating that after consulting with the "Team", the current shipping 2.5 Sheath buttons are the correct ones for the Sheath cases, which is BS. These buttons are old 2.3 buttons from last year's cases and do not fit or function correctly in the Sheath cases. I actually have one set of older 2.5 ember buttons (from before they started sticking the sticker on the side of the boxes), and they are identical to the buttons that come in the Sheath cases.

Caudabe has no clue what buttons they are shipping as 2.5, but they are NOT correct 2.5 buttons.

Odd, I wonder if they were mixed up with the other cases. The original sheath buttons stick out 1-2mm more than the synthesis or paragon buttons (Which I prefer).

Guess I will hold off on getting any extra sheath buttons until this is figured out.

It’s crazy that we’re 8 months in and they’re still confused about their own buttons. This is why I gave up on Caudabe a couple of years ago—too many unresolved issues, confusion, and excuses.

Haven't been on this thread for a while, but just wanted to say....

I dropped my 17 Pro for the first time today, it slipped out of my pocket while I was getting out the car and fell from about 4ft onto solid concrete, bounced around a couple of times and landed face up.

Not a single scratch or mark, literally still like new.

If anyone's wondering, I've got a Caudabe Sheath (Open) case, with a Spigen EZ-Fit tempered glass screen protector and a XtremeSkins matt skin for the rear plateau.

Thanks

They’ve offered to send replacement buttons, lets see what I get!

Lucky the sheath is rated to 6ft 😉

This is my take on the Sheath. If your priority is a slim profile that will reliably save your phone from a 6-foot drop onto a sidewalk, the Sheath delivers. But if you expect the case itself to look brand new after that drop, you will likely be disappointed, it sacrifices its own looks to save the phone.

My 15PM took a flyer off of a poolside table when a wind gust lifted the umbrella and tipped the table over. The phone landed on the concrete deck but was unmarked because of the Sheath, which did show a slight scuff on the corner but nothing too obvious. A dab of black shoe polish and some rubbing made the mark all but disappear.

Mujjo Basalt, not bad if you don't mind the logo lol
Feels nice not slippery, leather all round, good buttons, black.
Bit more lip and MagSafe is better than the Bellroy.
Mujjo is 42grams Bellroy 37
Bit bigger camera ring. More blue than black on the Bellroy.
$50AUD on sale on amazon.

Very close to the old Apple cases I reckon.

What he’s saying is he pushes through the camera opening of the case to help get a case off.

It has arrived. Very muted in person, not as neon as on the website. Gorgeous and not slippery feeling at all. BUT
The inner lining has rolls or bulges, and not in the „the fabric is bulging“ way. It’s more like the glue hardened under there. Ugh. Can’t use it like that with the butter soft phone. Off to mail support…. Cross your fingers for me.

Anyone else has this problem on their paragon?

Sadly- it seems to be a problem with Caudabe QC this year.
