I bought the 15 Pro three months before the 16 came out. Have I regretted it? I was unsure about it, but my old Xperia wouldn’t get more updates and I was going on a trip. The answer is a hard no. I don’t think I would have regretted getting the 14…perhaps even the 13.

Is this perhaps the genius of Apple? I don’t think so, because they’ve tried designing apparent arbitrary software limits around each model for a while now. And perhaps some are valid… but because Apple hasn’t done any real usability innovation since…7/8/9, it won’t affect you in your daily use of the phone.

So for me, upgrade anxiety definitely has gone the way of the Lightning connector.

And that’s good for my wallet and the environment….and in a crazy way, that is how Apple should market their phones from now.

Sure, our is 5x more expensive, but they last 10x longer as well. Good for your wallet, good for the environment.

Most of these are just not impressive improvements what-so-ever.

The titanium is a beautiful build quality on any phone. Switching back to aluminum is a mistake.

Rear camera layout is still ugly and isn't flush with the rest of the phone. Needs to be upped to 200 megapixels and 100x zoom on the pro models.

Larger battery is nice. Too bad it isn't thick enough to make the camera flush with the back. Apple should be using the 'iPhone Air' as the new lightweight phone, while the pros are thicker and heavier -- with great battery life. Aim to set a new benchmark in battery life within the industry.... 60 hours of video playback on a single charge.

Wi-Fi 7 chip... Unless confirmed via legitimate leaks, I won't hold my breath.

24 MP front facing camera... Fair and a welcome improvement.

8K video recording is a waste. I'm not replaying videos on a movie cinema screen at the local theater.

Extra RAM is a welcome improvement, but only if Apple did their research and determined that actual needs of on device AI performance.

I doubt there will be a vapor cooling system in any of the iPhones this year.

How about we get, at least in the pro models:
Under display fingerprint reader
The above things I've written in bold
Nanotexture display
60W charging (plugged in) on the pro models
A pro (or ultra) model that has a similar casing to the Samsung XCover series

Apple needs to set the bar higher for the next Galaxy S Ultra phone with the Pro Max -- not the other way around for a change.

I really really dislike the touch and feel of unpolished titanium….and it makes it too slippery. A polished frame "grips" your skin. The raw titanium is like "you can feel me sliding out of your hands before youmeven touch me".

I think what we all want is some form of real world usability improvements in the iOS. I’m not talking AI, that’s a feature and/or gimmick. I’m talking something that gives me day to day improvements in my interactions with the screen. Too much advanced stuff is buried in layers and most most of us have never even heard of. And someone at Apple has to have an idea of how to improve interaction with the phone

These “upgrades” are making it all the easier to swallow the switch from 16 Pro to 17 Air. I suspect that may be part of Apple’s strategy…

I just want to know they’ll justify the move to aluminum, after positioning stainless steel and then titanium as the premium version for years (and frankly, I do like titanium a lot more). Sure it will be something like a “magical new alloy” or so.
That's easy. Russia is controlling about half of world titanium supply. In current circumstances, Apple can't rely on it.

Why not change the name of the phones to the year of release, so iPhone 26? And why so many rumors? A lot will fall off. I hope the notch will be gone. So ugly for an hi ace Company. And very very less new….

The real redesign is expected for the 20th anniversary model in 2027. Until then it's going to be more or less of the same design we've had since iPhone 11. Which isn't a bad thing, mind you.

I can’t see them doing that cut out on the back. The rest of the design I can accept but that just looks amateur.
