Got it in silver and it looks and feels amazing. Held the Air and it’s not for me, the sound was trash and im a heavy user so battery is everything for me. Battery sips away so slowly.l on the Pro Max.

Got the Ultra 3, feels like the Ultra 2. Battery I don’t know yet.

Airpods 3 are worth the upgrade from the 2s, they sound fantastic, plus again.. the battery life is big for me.
i was quite concerned at how fast the battery drained on my 17 Pro Max. i know it's going to be working hard during first set up but it drained about 40% and got hot. charged it up now and it's set up so i'll see how the battery is now under normal use.

i'm still not a fan of the Watch Ultra. Got a Series 11. The main reason for the upgrade was battery. I was having to charge my Series 9 a lot more it was becoming annoying.

Also got Airpods Pro 3. Extra battery will be nice. not really listened to music yet on them but they feel so much more comfortable and don't feel like they will fall out so easily.

Do you think it's worth going from the ultra 2 to 3? I don't use cellular.

Yeah i guess i'm the first one to report:

Huge ass spec of dust right in middle of the tele lens. (The picture was taken without any extra light sources, no flashlight needed)
My 17 Pro Max also has a spec of dust - but it’s pretty small and in the ultra wide camera.

Decided to cruise to the Apple store and have a look. The 17PM in silver is a huge let down - It feels and looks cheap. The other colors look much better in person than the silver. The Air was an awesome feeling phone, but the speaker is so quiet it ruins the experience. I compared it in store with my 15PM and the difference was huge. With how much commotion was going on in the store, you couldn't even hear the speaker while holding it normally and playing apple music.

if you got the money and can get a good trade in for the Ultra 2 then yes. The extra battery will be worth it. The screen is way better on angles if you use AOD, far better to see it.

my store was really busy. it was a bit silly actually. don't remember it being that "chaotic" in all the times i've been there.

there was queue system which has never happened before as far as i can remember. at least not from the iPhone 4/4S days.

i had to speak to SIX different people and it took EIGHT staff to go through the whole process.

1. security guard pulled me back as soon as i walked in and told me to join the queue
2. a girl asked if i had a reservation.
3. second girl took my barcodes
4. guy took my barcodes
5. third girl took me from the guy to a fourth girl
6. fourth girl was the one who actually took me to a table to wait on some bringing my watch/airpods and then someone else to bring my iPhone. the girl serving me she seemed new as she was so nervous and looked lost and confused.

Quick for me, I just walked in (store in Switzerland), played with the phones, asked if they had any available, and was told "no" immediately 😁

Is the viewing angle that big of a diff like looking at the time when your hand is by your side?

To my eyes yes, finding the same thing with the iPhone 17 Pro Max too; viewing angles seem better this year on both products. Nice seeing the seconds tickings away, only a small thing but the Ultra 2 couldn’t do that.

Wow the Apple Store just opened in the uk and look how scratched the back of the new iPhones are, this is terrible
I'm currently running a 14PM naked and don't have a single scratch on the back, this is super disappointing to see. My screen is f'd but the back of my phone looks like new. crazy.

Hmm…

iPhone 14 Pro Max 240 grams
iPhone 15 Pro Max 221 grams
iPhone 16 Pro Max 227 grams
iPhone 17 Pro Max 233 grams
iPhone Air 165 grams

Perhaps not that foolish… lol.
YES I agreed it is felt good in my hand and lighter. I coming form 14 Pro max to 17 PM Deep blue. just a sweet feeling hold it. 😊 transferring pretty fast

I think the weight must be balanced higher due to the "plateau" as it does feel better in the hand and lighter. That combined with the added curvature of the sides makes it a lot more pleasant to hold than the last, well, several years of Pro Max.

I like the industrial design in person. It's utilitarian, loud, monolithic. I *hated* it in photos and renders but in the hand and in person it just looks and feels like a powerful device.

Time will tell if the aluminium was a good call. It feels nice, but we'll see how it wears. I went with silver for that reason so fingers crossed.

Yours seems to be just next to the lens.
Mine is literally in the ****ing center of the tele-lens.

But returning mine, waiting game starts when the new one goes back to stock and the old one is returned. Ugh. It's a damn shame 1500€ products cannot get free of dust. Especially when 15's and 16's had the exact same issue.

Well, luckily we aren't talking 3 trillion dollar company here... oh wait a second

How come I can’t collect mine until next week then? *pout* I preordered through a Telstra store but it isn’t available here in Adelaide until next Friday 26/9/25. I don’t understand!

I will skip the 17 PM alltogether. They don’t look anywhere premium with the cheap ass aluminum and weird design.

The “cheap ass aluminum” that they use on all their iPads and Macs?

I guess so. The same 'cheap ass aluminum' that is significantly better than titanium at thermals and offers similar durability for devices of the weight and size of phones.

I wouldn't be surprised if aluminum is used for the foreseeable future given how much better it is at dispersing heat.

I received the 17 PM in blue today, UK version and didn't like the lettering up the side of the phone CE mark, and secondly its not really dark blue its purple, really not impressed compared to my 16PM in black ti.

Normally I like deep blue colours but was shocked how purple it looks, maybe my eyes are broken but doesn't look like the blue in all the videos to me.

Overall, not convinced on the new phone, still running my 16PM and feel the 17 PM is top heavy, like wants to fall out of my hands, defo different balance to 16PM... but uk version has sim tray so less battery so likely is more top heavy.

cowabunga, dude! it is slippery and a case is def needed for this because the aluminum will scratch easily! but i like the new iteration of the iphone pros. i held the iphone air at the store in my hand and was never going to get that due to not having pro video features, but i wasn't as impressed with its thinness on my hand since it is still a wide phone due to its 6.6 inch screen format.

Same combo I'm rocking right now, love it!
