I personally won't mind a thicker phone, as long as it won't be way heavier. The iPhone Pros have become significantly thinner since the 15 Pro, thanks to titanium, so I wouldn't worry too much.

It’s too bad Apple never made thin and light iPhones. Oh wait…

“iPhone 6/S is too big!”
“iPhone 6/S Plus is too big!”

iPhone 17: hold my beer

Am I allowed to say I like this new design, comrades?

I want as much camera sensor and battery life as I can stuff into my back pockets. The horizontal black insert is sort of refreshing.

It seems to me that Apple making a more "Pro" model and a trimmer daily driver model should solve a lot of complaints. Give the big phone people a big phone. And the light phone people a lighter phone.

Now, just make the Air in two sizes and everyone can be happy(?).

If it results in a significant improvement in battery life then fine but making phones thicker and heavier to squeeze out tiny battery life improvement isn't worth the tradeoff imo.

13, 14 pro were too heavy for phones with a 6.1 inch screen.

I owned the 13 Pro and the squared off edges, top heavy design and extra weight gave it horrible feel in the hand.

Upgraded from 11 Pro to 13 Pro which gained about 4 hours in battery life (if you buy Apple's advertised numbers) but at the cost of 15 grams extra weight

Maybe I'm in the minority...I kinda like it! Maybe it's just because it's a refreshed design...I'll take anything at this point! 😆

A bump in battery size is always welcome....push it to 5000mAH for the PM's!

( 16 PM is 4,685mAh, so maybe realistically it will be 4800mAh)

Considering the entire internal frame of the 15 and 16 Pro (and Max) stayed as aluminum, and the titanium was never more than a very thin strip around the outside, I don't know that it will make much of a weight difference. Most estimates I've seen put the total weight of titanium, in the Pro model, at about 10g-12g. Aluminum is ~60% of the weight of titanium, so you looking at about 7g of weight savings.

I want a lighter phone, however they see fit. I never liked the weight of my 13 Pro, and I similarly dislike the weight of my 16 Pro.
So, you want a lighter phone “however they see fit” - but you are also okay with a 7g weight increase? I’m not sure what point you are even driving at here in your post?

Aluminum is lighter, so if everything else remained constant, an iPhone 17 Pro with an all aluminum chassis would be 7g lighter then a 16 Pro with the Titanium façade. Is that not a win for you?
