Do you guys think maybe they will move the soc into the camera bar spot to dissipate heat better? So even if you are using a case… that part won’t ever be covered? 🤔

Once again the "This chip is going to be so much more efficient on battery life argument" goes out the window as Apple straps a massive battery inside their phone again.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. Both things can be true. Why wouldn't they make the chip as power efficient as possible AND use the highest capacity battery they can?

Hope so. But 16 pro max battery has been junk from day 1.

Take it while travelling using Google maps, photos and screen brightness up. Lucky if one can even get 3 hours before needing to charge.
What the heck is up with your phone? I travelled with my nearly 3 year old 14 Pro Max this summer and had no problem getting through the day with that kind of usage

It could have a bigger battery so it can charge Airpods and other devices. I'm pretty sure they will give some gimmicky marketing name to that glass area in the back, something like "Magsafe Pad" or "Magsafe Tray".

Main battery consumption during the daily usage is coming from the display. There aren’t any magic new A chip that is lowering the consumption that much. For the displays there aren’t currently not these huge changes, so I don’t get this talk about a more efficient processor anymore.
One improvement coming to the display is anti-reflective coating. I'm hoping that will help me improve (already great) battery life by reducing the need to crank up screen brightness outdoors.

I can barely make it through a day with the 16p doing very normal usage sort of things. If I'm sightseeing and using Maps and lots of photos/videos then forget it. Better battery remains very high on any feature list for me.

97 percent battery health. 297 cycle count

It’s near 6pm and I’ve used 70 percent battery already today (and lighter use today than usual)
If you haven't already (and I'm sure you probably have) you should take a look at what apps are using the most power, and see if there are unnecessary background tasks going on. You probably already know this too but if you have a weak cellular connection that really drains the battery fast too.

It's not like they are "working" on the iPhone's battery life. They are simply putting a larger battery in it every year now. Not as easy to do on the Apple watch.
Battery tech hasn’t improve much in years. I highly doubt apple will be the company to reinvent the battery. My bet is companies like Tesla, or Samsung that continue to do more research on the next revolution of battery tech.
