I'm more curious how much the 17 Pro will weigh.

15 Pro - 6.6 oz. or 187 g (3274 mAh)
16 Pro - 7 oz. or 199 g (3582 mAh)
17 Pro - ?

More extensive use of aluminum may make it lighter, offsetting the larger battery. If the total package is more than 7 ounces it's starting to tip the scales. For years I've scaled down my case game so that now I have something plastic that covers the back, top and bottom and weighs less than an ounce. I'm not fully sold on the robustness of ceramic shield, but I may have to accept it.

good. Get rid of the sim tray! eSIM all the way.

The idea of a physical SIM card seems so silly and from the dinosaur days. Apple has been slowly working towards this since they ditched standard sims about a decade and a half ago.

I hate having a useless empty sim slot on my phone. It doesn’t do anything for me. I’d rather they use that space towards a bigger battery!

Well, I suppose it’s better to be ‘awe dropping’ than ‘floor dropping’… my iPhone can only survive one of those

Good question. Curious to see if it will break the 200g mark.

No seasoned iPhone proprietor of true stature, a man of commerce, a power user, could possibly swallow such a laughable claim. Not a chance on planet Earth! This so-called ‘all-day battery life’ would be gasping for air by noon under my stewardship. Why, I’d wager the very silver mine I oversee in Peru on it!

So… Aside from better battery, slightly larger screen, and a lens for long distance photography, The 17 Air and 17 Pro are basically the same device?

It's not like they are "working" on the iPhone's battery life. They are simply putting a larger battery in it every year now. Not as easy to do on the Apple watch.
It literally is.
  • Series 10 is almost 10% thinner than Series 7-9.
  • Series 10 is an impressive ~50% thinner than Apple Watch Ultra/2

If you can make the phone thicker, you can make the watch thicker.

Yes, but there is no way Apple is going to make a thinner watch. They are going to keep making it thinner and thinner.

Amen! Couldn’t have put it better myself.

Has there been any speculation that these phones could also be called iPhone 26? Maybe they do to the phone numbering system what they do to the iOS version numbers...

Love more battery life for my Pro, but please, please, please don't let the 17 Pro look like that hideous Frankenkludge of a design. THAT would be "awe-dropping" all right--the first-ever awesomely ugly iPhone.
