Why would they put in the same camera as a much more expensive phone?
Hey, I mentioned iPhone Air just as example how I see how should look camera in 17e for having 1 lens but almost as good as in Pro, with sensor stabilization which is great for 2x crop.
As for comparison in line up, I would omit iPhone Air, becuase its so strange phone (there is only 1 camera not because its expensive, but because its thin, to put bigger battery which is still tiny) and focus on regular ip and pro.
In that case, there is already a clear segregation, that best phone has 3 lenses, regular 2 and cheap 1.
So if its already worse, that 1 should be as good, especially if they’re all marketed as the same 48mpx 2 in 1 lens fusion camera. You really need to dig deep into specification to find that 17e lacks sensor stabilization which is crucial for 2x crop.
Battery size being above 4000 mah is amazing, in similar size only 17 Pro beats it, so for me that would be amazing light, pretty phone. With better camera I know I could use it for next 4 years and then pass it to someone else or keep it as a secondary device.
Thats why for me real battery capacity is much more important that those video playback times and what Apple says, if battery is big it stands for much longer. I have iPad Air 2 as a secondary device and original battery life is still unbelivable. I can use it for reading, playing board games and playing music with no issue after almost 12 years! But tiny iPhone SE altough should work similar is totally useless, extremely slow (although has newer processor) and turns off after 20 minutes, and I can see that hapening with Air and all regulars and smaller pros until 17 (maybe 16 series should be better but not enough) 🤷♂️
