I only use a screen protector for the anti-glare treatment, so it would be nice if the screen is anti-glare from the factory.

Let me guess,..there were negotiations with Corning at the time of this so called Apple innovation? 🙄🤦‍♂️

For years, Apple has under-delivered on these camera-phones. Year-after-year, we hear “just wait until next year” while each camera-phone is a mirror image of its predecessor. However, I do enjoy predicting which new Samsung feature Apple will appropriate. Until then, I wait in anticipation for the next “drop” of emojis!

I personally prefer to use a tempered glass screen protector. not sure if it would stick well with a nano-texture glass. I would like anti-glare though.

man, once again Apple is going to disappoint if not with this report already have.... smh lame.

The Nokia Lumia 920 had a marvelous display (2012) … ClearBlack technology utilized polarizing filters layered within the display

A lot of displays from a certain era had glare-reducing polarizing filters. My old (non-retina) Apple Thunderbolt Display certainly does. You can tell by wearing polarized glasses - the display will appear completely black from certain angles!

My modern MacBooks and OLED iPhones have no such polarization.

That's right, folks, coatings are OLD NEWS! It's time to get stoked for the ALL NEW Ceramic Shield 2.0. This is best, strongest Ceramic Shield that Apple has ever released. And Apple didn't stop there. For the first time ever, Ceramic Shield now has best-in-class anti-reflection BUILT IN! Customers will love to use their phones outdoors, seeing the crystal clear display in a way they never have before. Apple can't wait to see the incredible things customers do with the ALL NEW Ceramic Shield 2.0. Apple thinks you're gonna love it!

You can get a pair of anti-glare, scratch-resistant screen protectors for roughly $15. If it ads much more than that to the cost of the phone, I think it's hard to justify.

How can something be cancelled if it was never confirmed?
It's still a rumour. So why not? It's rumoured they started something, it's rumoured they cancelled that thing.

We're not on Macnews.com, right?

It's not like we're on the bleeding edge of journalism.

Meh, who cares! Let the marketing team trump up whatever the hell they like and then tell the rest of the company to create the product. Oh, hello Apple intelligence. Oh, hello iOS 18 (the why bother edition).

So how did Samsung figure it out? I think it’s more likely that Tim wants the cost to go down if the 17 Pro doesn’t get it. It’s too bad, it would’ve been a nice upgrade.
Technically Corning figured it out, they’re the ones who manufacture the glass. Samsung just bought it from them, they didn’t have a hand in making it.

Apple insists on having its hand in everything. Ceramic Shield was co-developed between Apple and Corning and they likely want the same level of input and control over the final product instead of just using off the shelf Gorilla Glass Armor or Victus 2 glass.

What a bummer. I hope we get at least 5 new emojis to compensate that …

I’m still asking the question no one seems to answer. Why are people with Apple but they complain a lot about them ? All talk it seems
Because they have too much free time and are bored. *(sarcasm)
You act like your world is ending. Relax lol. Go to the gym
For some people the world is ending because Apple is delaying some features for the upcoming iPhones. *(sarcasm)
yup, was just about to write the same thing ... weird world we are living in, isn't it?

MR staff: you can do better than this!
We live in a world where every rumor must be posted on MacRumors. I hope Apple leaks false informations so they can catch the leakers. I wish I could say more but I am afraid I can't go off-topic.
