I’ll be keen for a new 512Gb pro max so long as it’s got substantial improvements in camera tech and battery life. If not, will just hang on to the trusty 14 pro max for another year as I couldn’t care less about clunky Artificial Idiocy.

Who are you trading in with? Carriers will give you $1000 toward just about any trade.
Verizon. They said my phone is worth maybe $250 or so. I want to trade in my iPhone or my old Android, and they're both a terrible value. It's sad. My girlfriend, however, turned in a 15 Plus and got a 17 Pro for basically free. Of course that kind of deal doesn't apply to me. Of course.

Or trade in your car (assuming it's a nice, new model one) for a new phone.
Or keep your old phone. In my case a 14 Pro that only needs a new battery in the near future. I’m glad I chose the 512 GB version back in 2022. I’m also happy it doesn’t support all that AI nonsense.

Starting prices

$1,399 Pro
$1,499 Pro Max

You can just about take those prices to the bank! They will still sell out day 1 with deliveries extended into weeks ahead. 100% guaranteed to happen as it does every year.

You severely underestimate the anticipation! We shall see at launch.
I don't think so. The anticipation is for the concept, not the actual product they are going to ship. Plus, there are around 1 million buyers for everything Apple produces no matter the cost or value. They are guaranteed to sell around that many. That is where the hype that you imagine exists comes from.

I wish I didn't jump from a 2021 iPhone 13 Pro Max to a 2024 iPhone 16 Pro Max and instead went with a 2023 iPhone 15 Pro Max to get to a 2025 iPhone 17 Pro Max.
