The iPhone 18 Pro Max will feature a bigger battery for continued best-in-class battery life, according to a known Weibo leaker.

Citing supply chain information, the Weibo user known as "Digital Chat Station" said that the iPhone 18 Pro Max will have a battery capacity of 5,100 to 5,200 mAh. Combined with the efficiency improvements of the A20 Pro chip, made with TSMC's 2nm process, the device could tout extremely impressive battery life. It is expected to be thicker than its predecessor to facilitate the larger battery.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max has the biggest ‌iPhone‌ battery to date at 5,088 mAh. Apple says it has a battery life of up to 39 hours. A recent test found that Apple devices lead the industry for battery life, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max ranking as the longest-lasting phone tested and Apple tied as the top overall brand. As a result, with a bigger battery and more efficient chip, the iPhone 18 Pro Max should comfortably offer over 40 hours of battery life.

Meanwhile, the first foldable iPhone, which is expected to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, is rumored to feature class-leading battery life. The foldable's battery could be over 5,500 mAh in size, which would make it the largest capacity of any iPhone, as well as any rival foldable device‌.

The ‌iPhone 18‌ Pro and ‌iPhone 18‌ Pro Max are expected to launch later this year, featuring a smaller Dynamic Island, the C2 modem, a simplified Camera Control, a 24-megapixel front-facing camera, and an upgraded main camera with a variable aperture.

its a good step in correct direction and Apple has been delivering better battery performance than the previous gens in the last few years but

It lasts 2 days but will still take 2 days to charge.
completely agree with this.

In this day and age we are still limited with the relatively slow charging with the iPhones. it would be a very "Pro" move to wait your phone to charge half a day. Competition, with the help of SC batteries, are years ahead.

Cupertino, California — Apple today introduced iPhone 18 Pro, a device so exceptionally Pro that it sets a new industry standard for confidence, battery life, and the repeated use of the word “Pro”. Featuring the most pro battery life ever achieved in an iPhone Pro, iPhone 18 Pro represents Apple’s profound decision to deliver a pro feature customers have been politely requesting for over a decade.

iPhone 18 Pro introduces several groundbreaking Pro features:

  • Pro Battery Life — the longest in iPhone Pro history, engineered to outlast your attention span
  • Pro Performance — desktop-class power primarily used for social media and cat photos
  • Pro Camera System — more lenses than ever, ensuring random strangers immediately recognize your upgrade
  • Pro Retina Display — stunningly bright, smooth, and ideal for admiring selfies, and how slowly the battery drains
  • Pro Materials — meticulously crafted out of aerospace grade quantum materials to feel expensive in ways that are light years ahead of the competition.
Apple has also enhanced iOS with Battery Confidence Technology Pro, which presents remaining power in a way that independent studies show makes users feel statistically superior to people with older phones.

Whatever Apple say, it's never real-world results when you download an app and actually use a phone like a regular person.

These specs of the phones running for 39h are with no apps running, perfect room temperature, the moon is aligned, etc.

And the battery life on iOS 18 vs 26 is night and day - liquid glass and has been draining battery life more than my credit card for every new Apple release...

There you go, your thicker iPhone that you've all been moaning about, congratulations.

Now you can disabled AI, turn off the always on screen, remove Apple glass and all animations, put it on silent, stick the screen to 1% brightness and lock it to just the phone app and you'll get the battery life you've been asking for.

We’ve got this same rumor for 3 years in a row and we only have got marginally better battery life. I don’t expect it to be much better since the 17 Pros already are maximizing battery space by removing the SIM slot.

Bigger battery means it will weigh more.

It sounds like Apple is heading in the opposite direction than in the Air.

Battery life has always been one of my top concerns. I’ve been all about the batteries getting bigger for ages.

But…

An even thicker heavier phone than the 17 pro max? Which already has extremely impressive battery life?

I was planning on doing a rare 1 year upgrade from the 17 pro max to the 18 pro max because I should have gotten the larger storage size. But an even thicker heavier phone might give me pause.
