Chinese leaker Ice Universe has shared an image showing four camera plateau protection plates with finishes that appear to match the latest color rumors for Apple's iPhone 18 Pro models.

Last week, a Macworld report claimed Apple is working on four color options for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max: Light blue, dark cherry, dark gray, and silver.

The four anodized aluminum camera lens protector plates shown here are labeled as black, silver, wine red, and blue. Note that the accessories in the picture are not actual phone bodies but third-party camera covers designed to complement the rumored finishes, and we believe the "black" description refers to dark gray. According to Weibo-based leaker Instant Digital, Apple won't be offering its next-generation premium models in a black color option this year.

All four colors are said to be still in development, and Apple still has time to make changes.

The iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to be unveiled this September alongside Apple's first foldable iPhone, which will have its own set of color finishes that are likely to be more muted, with silver, white, and indigo rumored so far.

Luckily, the iPhone 17 Pro isn't available in light blue, otherwise I would have considered it instead of the iPhone 17 Mist Blue.

So three of the same colour (grey, dark grey or darker grey) and blue-white. Woo hooo. Amazing stuff. Tim apple really knows how to design something inspiring and desirable.

My wife still misses her blue iPhone 5C that had an actual colour 🙂

And tbh I'd buy a bright orange one for myself instead of the current black just to make it easier to find without turning on every light in the house.

By the way, isn't it sad that Tim's thinness fetish creates a whole industry just to make the shape of these phones more manageable?

I see it how this is gonna go. There was an interview last year with Greg Jozwiak explaining about the 3 color choices and how and why they left out the black color way. He said that the three colors chosen for last year were to cover all basis of taste which is 1) dark color. 2) Fun/Hero color. 3) Neutral Color. So for this year the Dark red color will replace the deep blue. The Light blue will replace the cosmic orange thus being the new fun color. And the silver remains. Unfortunately I see another year without a black pro iPhone.

Guys, go outside and focus on something besides your device. The 18 will be colourful and the 18 Pro will be muted and life will still go on. Somehow the seasons will continue to cycle and you'll get older, and wiser? At least you'll get older anyway.

Edit: two people managed to disagree with this comment. I'm rooting for you, guys.

On a side note, DO NOT use these camera protection plates - it is very tricky to put on without any dust or lint on, and in some angles and lights footage taken looks off or washed out. And they are a nightmare to take off - had to use a metal pryer to rip off the super strong adhesive, was a miracle there were no scratches.

It's a shame because something like this is required - all the cases I've seen always expose the entire camera island.

I've said this before, but the Pro devices should always be offered in black. With Apple increasingly pushing (and industry adopting) the Pro iPhones for use as professional cameras, having a fully blacked-out device that won't get picked up in reflections is pretty critical.

Heck, I'd buy a VANTABLACK iPhone if I could.

Not sure what you mean. Jony Ive had the thinness fetish. The iphones, macbook pros, etc have only become thicker since Jony left.

iPhone Air? And the silly camera "mound" is right in front of your eyes in the photos for this article. Isn't that because of a continued thinness fetish?

I'd like to have an iPhone with a flat back again. All these modern iphones (i have a plain 16 now) are really hard to align properly with a generic wireless charging stand because they're not flat. And let's not even think about using them on a table.
