I always just want silver. And for some reason silver is often just white on iPhones. It wasnt until the 16pro that we actually got a true silver option.

no orange?
I am really hoping the 18 Pro & Pro Max come in Orange, be it Cosmic Orange or another variation. My 13 Pro Max will be getting upgraded with an 18 Pro or Pro Max - Cosmic Orange nearly had me pre-ordering, but I decided to "tough it out" another year lol

New colors from Apple:

Ultra Violent
Infra Dead
Liver Purple
Loathsome Lilac
Matter Yellow
Burnt Hombre
Gan Green

(Apologies to Douglas Adams)

In all seriousness -- I would have to be pretty desperate to buy a phone for myself in any color other than some variation of black. Apple should ALWAYS offer a black option.
I love "Ultra Violent", "Infra Dead" and "Loathsome Lilac"! I don't know how, but please make those happen!

Every “Pro” product should ALWAYS be offered in black. Especially the iPhone, which gets increasing use as a pro still and video camera. You dont want it reflecting light or colour on the subject you're shooting.

Pro camera gear is black for a reason.

They were going to, but someone used up all the black ink.

If you ask me, black is the least appealing color. I don't care about the color so much, if I don't like it I can just put a case over it.

They basically made Pro lineup look less premium and more utilitarian with 17 Pro. And not just with colours, with the materials too. Previous versions of Pro looked way more premium.

I have a 14 Pro in black. The battery was dying, and I wanted the 17 Pro... but no black or grey. So I paid to get a new battery. I know others who are in the same boat. We want to update, but don't want to pay a lot of money for a color we don't like.

So either we get back to grey or black, or we will be forced to use some silly color when the hardware is no longer getting software updates.

What is the process for coloring the phone during manufacture? And would that support custom colors that customers can order for an additional fee? Or would it be so expensive that there's not enough of a market to bother?

Yes, I know a case can change the color.

The 17 Pro is the ugliest iPhone Apple has ever shipped and the color options didn’t help. That being said I’ll probably opt for a silver 18 Pro if there’s no black.

The only black coloured iPhone in 2026 will be the $2000 one.

Tim, you evil genius.

Then perhaps the iPhone XX will be the only one to come in black next year.

To be clear I love the colour variety (but I always end up picking white because my formative Apple years were in the late 90s) but I know a lot of people are more conservative on tech colour finishes and exclusively go for black.
Not true. The iPhone Air remains the flagship thin phone in the lineup until next spring, and comes in space black.
