iphone is busted

My iphone was from the states and I live in Canada, so when I went to upload the new firmware (2.0) it erased my iphone and reset it because I left in my ROGERS sim card.

Anyways, I think if I downgrade to 1.1.1 or something of the same, I will be able to unlock it again as Ive tried to unlock it with the 2.0 firmware and it cant.

So when I downloaded the 1.1.1 it didnt even show up as a zip file, only as a folder, therefore I couldnt open it when I tried to do the downgrade.

If anyone has an idea why it wouldnt be loading as a zip and only as a file that would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I had the same problem with the folder.

Look in your trash and you will likely find the original file with the .zip extension. The .zip is likely proceeded by ".ipsw" pull the file out of the trash and delete the ".zip" iTunes should now recognize the file.
