Any way that i can fix this in settings??

Not true at all.

Apple has taken a public stance against MMS and Copy/Paste - they'll probably change their mind eventually and come around...but who knows.

Can someone confirm this? I have never heard that Apple has officially stated that copy and paste will not be supported.

Does it works with sim unlock?

Does anyone knows if its still works with sim unlock tool on iphone 3G?

any confirmation that fetch actually is fixed??? my gmail account used to fetch almost instantly when i got a new e-mail...

Odd..... My favorite new feature is the click home button to bring you home from any other screen. Sad :(

Sad for me is that just a few days ago, i made the 5th screen (of 9) my "main" screen with my most commonly used apps on it. the the 4th and 6th screens were the next more common for me, so i have 2 screens that were only 1 swipe away from the home screen, not just one. Now :apple: went and messed up my new theory. oh well. this is not a terrible idea though. now i have to bring all my icons over, one at a time, and rearrange them.

There should be a way to change the position of pages of them, or have the icon positions editable on iTunes.

The whopping 1/4 gb download went fine, and the iPhone updated without a hitch. All in all (with DSL) it took a little less than an hour for me. My iPhone backup was surprisingly quick.

Google Street View is another incredible piece of technology. I'm not sure why they chose that little person icon. I can see why people would find that confusing; it seems to indicate adding a contact or finding one. Instead, if they had a perspective arrow in a circle (representing the street view arrows you see everywhere), that might be a bit more intuitive.

Overall, my iPhone seems more responsive. I used to regularly get keyboard hiccups (even after a restore). And applications were a bit sluggish in launching and responding. But now things seem -- yes, everyone say it -- SNAPPY!

Any stability issues with the 2.2 update that you didn't have with 2.1? As of late my iPhone has been ridiculously unstable - it's crashed many times, the battery graphic froze last night and my iPhone died (while showing 75% battery), and it's basically just been awful. I'm going to stop downloading 3rd party applications because I know they're at the heart of the instability. Also, I'm going to remove all but the few 3rd party apps I use all the time before I do this 2.2 update.

The facebook app crashed on me earlier today.

By 'virgin', I meant ME... (iPhone virgin that is)

Maybe I should have used the more up to date 'newbie' or 'noob'...

What I was wondering is does it take twice the amount of space as the incoming update to update these suckers. Like if an update is 200M, do I need 400M to do the update or does it sort of only replace the bits updated and no additional space is needed. I haven't had my coffee this morning so maybe I'm not making sense like I should...

Still, to comment on Google Street View, it's a toy on some levels. I've heard of house fires and accidents and scantily clad women being found on pictures there... Still, for dreams of sunny places I'm sure it can be therapy... This is the first day that we've seen the sun in over a week! Yippee...

Oh lol. So I take it you know how Evil ATT is then. :)

It is and update and isn't. What you are downloading is the whole OS. It'll replace the old one with the new. So if the old OS was 200MB and the new one is 300MB, it would take an additional 100MB.

Now if a trains leaves station X to go to station Y traveling at 50MPH, taking 6 hours, how many miles is it? LoL Please don't answer this.

Broke my original iPhone

I had an original iPhone and my new 3G hooked up to my computer. I had been using the original as an iTunes remote and mini Internet device. I upgraded my original as a test, and now it is "for emergency calls" only. Any ideas?

Fetching now seems to be up and working (at least with my POP account).

Not sure where that is?

Google Street View isn't available in all locations as of yet, but for the locations that it is, a red 'man' will appear next to the destination. Click this and the screen is rotate to landscape mode, displaying an photograph of the area.

If the destination doesn't feature Google Street View, the red 'man' will be faded.

By the way, check out my thread for screenshots of all the new features and undocumented features/fixes: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/604119/.

podcasting question

so how does one go about accessing a podcast that requires a password? i'm not able to find any of my paid podcasts. and, can you subscribe to a daily podcast, so that it will automatically download, or at least let you know it is available?

Finally, I've read through all 32 pages of this thread. I've updated my significant other's 3G iPhone, but will wait for the iPhone Dev Team to workout the new pwnge 2.2.

Everyone complaining needs to "put on their Big Gurl Underwear" :p and move on. Please look at all of the the threads regarding 2.2 Firmware Update, before you make your decision to update...:eek:
