Anyone notice the progress bar on the iPhone itself? I don't think that was there before... or was it?

Yeah, that's all those emojis working. ;)

You're not the only one. I can't figure it out either. It's probably really obvious and we're gonna feel stupid when we find out how to do it.

edit: got it

Don't worry, it's an essentially useless feature. How often do you use Street View on your desktop? Should be no different with the mobile version.

I don't see how a useless "feature" and bug fixes qualify as a point upgrade. I guess Apple really is lowering the bar. :(

yeah, I agree - I'm just glad I'm finally able to disable the stupid auto correction. But definitely not worth a point upgrade. Where are the push notifications that have been promised for almost a year? Where is cut and paste that other phones have had for 5+ years? Where's MMS? Where's tethering? I guess I'll keep on using my iPhone 3G as an iPod Touch and use my Touch HD instead :-/

I wonder how much Google is paying Apple to have that search bar visible at all times with the word "Google" in it...

Kinda makes you wonder which phone is running Android? Maybe there are 2 Androids; an open and a closed (Apple) one. Not having my loaded yet, but is the biggest new feature on this update one that wasn't even developed by Apple, but by Google?

C'mon! Maybe it's the emojis that qualify this update as a point upgrade. :D

Safari is a LOT snappier. And I'm not joking here. Thank you, Apple. :D

I mean when I touch the Address bar, it quickly open up within a second. That never happened before.

Cool it does work ( click on the person icon)

edit i was too late can someone delete my post

"Pressing the Home button on any home screen, brings you to the first home screen" = a sick hidden feature not known before.....

but.... as I'm sure has been mentioned already, no Push notification :(

Heh, I would update, but I am getting my iPhone replaced tomorrow. Guess this gives me an opportunity to move all the iPhone files from my PC to my new MBP

Public transit/Walking directions == my phone is now 10x more useful to me

That was my #1 feature request, thanks Apple :)

Not being a smartass or anything, but how are walking directions any different than driving directions? Does it give your short cuts like "walk into dead-end and hop fence on left. Ignore dog barking and just run!"?
