In the last seconds I noticed that if you type www.me.com
you are redirected to a "www.me.com/not_found", and only after this you go to the old Apple Mobileme "parking" page.
Maybe MobileMe it's near to his birth!

Should be going back online soon right? Another two hours top for them to be within their time schedule.

But no 2.0...

I just installed 7.7 and went to update my 1.1.4 iPhone, and it says it's up to date...so I guess 2.0 is not officially out yet :(

iTunes 7.7:
-When first starting iTunes 7.7, it asks to enable Automatic chek for available downloads or not.
-There's a new Application icon on the sidebar within the Library. Games are grouped inside it.
-In Preferences, Advanced, General, there's an option to "Look for iPhone & iPod touch remotes."

I tried syncing my iPod Touch and checking for update, no firmware 2.0 update yet.

iPhone Japan update:

I just got a call from Softbank in Shizuoka City, Japan (an hour from
Tokyo). They have 10 iphones, only black 16 GB models. They will open their doors at 9:30 am on July 11. The first 5 people in line will be given a ticket that enables them to purchase one of the phones. They will have to return to the store 3 hours later at 12:30 to redeem their tickets and get the phone. Don't ask why, nothing makes sense here. (for instance, to find a person I rarely call in the address book of my Sony-ericsson phone it takes 36 clicks. Did I mention I'm quitting Docomo?) Only people who previously had pre-registered with Softbank for an iphone are even eligible to wait in line. If you didn't sign the list some time ago, you can't get a phone.

There were about 50 people who signed the reservation list which means that I have roughly a 10% chance to get a phone on opening day. I'm thinking my odds increase with the 9:30 start time since most people will have to go to work. I'll call in late for work if I land one of the first 5 spots in line. My plan is to go over there about 8am tomorrow to check on the status of the line. If less than 5 people are waiting, I'll get in line. Would love to get a phone tomorrow, but if i have to wait a few weeks, I don't really care. People are making way too much of this.

The whole process repeats again on Saturday the 12th with the remaining 5 phones.

If you want a white phone, you have to go to Softbank at 12:30 on the 11th and place an order for it. They gave no timetable for filling the order.

Some Softbank stores in this city didn't get any phones.

It looks to me that there will be at least a 7 day wait until the shelves are stocked with phones. That's just a guess.

Well...

When the heck is this thing launching! I've gotta wake up at 10AM tomorrow for work and then I'll be up for 30 hours straight after you combine work and camping out. I want to play with MobileMe before I go to bed, hurrrrrrrry Apple!

I just have a simple request... I'm in Kuwait and it would be nice to get in my email and see what the "wife" wrote..

I have a real solution for you:

www.mail2web.com

I have used them in the past and they seem to be genuinely trustable. They act as a web based proxy to a pop3 or imap account (suggest you use imap to save any chance of deleting mail you want to keep.)

What are you talking about?

Phones are in stock. It's all over the news. and I don't know of any phone that takes "36" clicks. Everything here runs very VERY smoothly and efficiently. You should know, you catch trains here right?

plus there's always gmail or yahoo. Both do imap on the current iPhone just fine. Or you could just talk to her...she is your wife ;)

They guy's in kuwait, if his wife is in the US, that could be a 10 hour time difference give or take. I think E-Mail probably makes sense unless the wife is a vampire or something :)

It's a 7 hour difference (I live in Ohio). Email is cheaper seeing how she is a "talker". Hopefully one of my coworkers who is a store manager for AT&T can hide a phone for when I take leave in case the shipments are small initially.

So people, 20 minutes left before its 2

Guess we'll find out about Me and 2.0 soon enough

oh, wow...

Apple, i love you and all, but you just made me waste my entire night of sleep. You threw off my internal clock...

I hope you're happy...

Ahaha :) Think about we European "lucky" people: we woke up this morning, after a good and long night of sleep (here is 10:53 AM), and we can have MobileMe rigth in the morning :)
