Sung to the tune of "Rescue me" by Aretha Franklin:

MobileMe!
Oh show me your push mail
MobileMe
I want your to never fail
'Coz I'm lonely and I'm blue
Without .Mac I need your love too

Come on and MobileMe
Come on baby and MobileMe
Come on baby and MobileMe
'Coz I need you, by my side
On my iPhone and touch
MobileMe all night...

I start to be a little bit tired. They cannot take down an entire website for 12 hours. This is not a "planned maintenance", it's incompetence.
They want the "great launch", but with this kind of technology you can't do the entire switch in the last seconds...

.mac maintenance site has changed..

MobileMe Launch
7/9/2008, 8pm-2am PT

The maintenance window has been extended. We are working hard to make MobileMe available as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.

As part of the MobileMe launch, www.mac.com has been taken offline at 8pm PT on Wednesday, July 9th.

Members will be unable to access www.mac.com or any .Mac services during this time with the exception of .Mac Mail accessed via a desktop application, iPhone, or iPod touch.

This is a really weak showing by Apple... I fear this is only the beginning of the complications of iWeek :(

I think...

Apple should just allow us to use the servers and...

WE'LL DO IT LIVE, I'll write it and we'll do it live

Come on, Apple... Are you alive? Is there somebody still awake in Cupertino? Everybody sleeping after the long nigth? Looks like this is the ImmobileMe...

OK this is height of limit. 2 hours late! I get shudders thinking if this is the condition now, whats gonna happen once its on!!!:(

I still have the .Mac system preferences icon in my System Preferences after upgrading to iTune 7.7. Does any one else have the new MobileMe icon in there?

It's Alive!!!

It works!! Except Software Update still doesn't allow the legitimate download of the MobileMe updater so my System Preferences still says .Mac :(

There we go, just got a message from .mac confirming it's death and transformation into MobileMe as well as a friendly point towards system updater for the OS X patch...
