I start to be a little bit tired. They cannot take down an entire website for 12 hours. This is not a "planned maintenance", it's incompetence.
They want the "great launch", but with this kind of technology you can't do the entire switch in the last seconds...

As part of the MobileMe launch, www.mac.com has been taken offline at 8pm PT on Wednesday, July 9th.
Members will be unable to access www.mac.com or any .Mac services during this time with the exception of .Mac Mail accessed via a desktop application, iPhone, or iPod touch.

Thats true, but you don't know whats happening in the background, you would expect they had this planned out to the letter before they started it... That being said, their not leaving themselves any wiggle room if it all goes pear shaped either!
I'm sure Apple will release it when I'm about to go leave for another base for the day (Approximately 20 min), just to spite me...

I still have the .Mac system preferences icon in my System Preferences after upgrading to iTune 7.7. Does any one else have the new MobileMe icon in there?
