There were discussions happening on the O2 customer forum on whether you can use Simplicity SIM in the PAYG Iphone and, contrary to what some O2 staff have said, you can. See:

I'm trying to work out whether you can buy a PAYG iphone, topup the min. credit, activate it in Itunes, logon to The Cloud/BT OpenZone and activate the Wifi (using the PAYG phone number given), then once the Wifi is tied to the device (by the fixed MAC address of the device), then put a simplicity sim card in and continue using the free Wifi. To me this sounds possible due to the Wifi being linked to the device instead of the sim card.
Is this possible?
