Pardon me, I realise you may, to quote you, 'f***ing know all this already' but some people asked for advice - and yeah they got a fanboi response with some passion - so what!. That doesn't mean you can lay down the law on what can and can't be said O' Mighty Skunk.

Anyone else your planning to slap down tonight or just me ?

Calm down, bring facts/supporting statements.

p.s. there was another person quoted, so you already have your answer. Just because I am asking users to be sensible and thoughtful in the discussion doesn't mean that I am "laying down the law" on what can be said. You can say what you want, so can I, which is why I posted what I posted... let's not get hypocritical.

Those were my facts/supporting statements - you just didn't like them, is all.

Yes, They were laced with enthusiasm and passion. Apple kit does that to me. So do beautiful women and fast cars - I don't do factual comparative analysis of those either...

So please don't take this as a confrontational response - it's not, and I'm not making a big deal of it, but I make no apology for my opinions nor shall I be intimidated to kerb them..

The iPhone is an emotive object, and it stands as an anti-thesis of the insidious apathetic general Windows user 'it's just a computer' world view.

I love that Apple users are full of passion...it'll be a sad day if it ever goes....

I won't take it as confrontation, thanks for being civil too and you will never have to apologize since I will never ask for one, especially if they are your opinions. And I will never intimidate you to curb them at all.

BUT... I have that same right and will do the same thing. Especially when it comes to lambasting certain devices that aren't branded with an Apple. Other companies make great devices too, and many times they are better than the Apple counterpart.

For some it does. I love my MBP and would be hard pressed to trade it in for any other similar spec'd book.

Agreed. But as Apple users, we can't perpetuate that stereotype by just showing our passion. We will have to give something to backup our claims that our OS is superior, and so forth.

To get back on topic. I love the iPhone, and would love to have the compatibility that I have been begging for since 2002, but to have to pay more for the phone and the contract is a bit of a turn off.

I could care less about the Instinct, but it's a pretty good knock off that has the best features of the iPhone and a better service provider in my area. So I am still sitting on the fence as I usually do.

..And about the plastic material of the 3g iphone yeah i know most phones are plastic but you can also insure most of those other plastic phones like the instinct...

Am I the only one who doesn't understand that "sentence" My brain hurts trying to read that.

It's a bit wordy, but basically the OP wants a more solid phone since the iPhone doesn't have insurance, while many others do. Once you break it or loose it it's gone, while with other networks, specifically Sprint, you can get it replaced for $50 or if you break it you can get it fixed for free usually same day.

Nice post. If we were in a bar I'd think I'd buy you a drink and chink glasses.

P.S - I am a amongst the worst Apple fanboi's!!

I would accept and commend you on your honesty. Allow me to buy the second round.

Love Apple, love their products, but I will forever point out their minor flaws. So I know what to scream for in the next revision.
