Several readers have reported that their early iPhone 3G S orders will be arriving as early as June 17th (Wednesday), two days earlier than expected. The official launch day for the iPhone 3G S is Friday, June 19th.

Meanwhile, a Brazilian site (MyDock.com.br) has posted an unlocked iPhone 3G S. The video shows the new iPhone as well as the new Compass app in action:

Pretty interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing how it does with video. I was surprised by the camera, and still constantly am. The pricing though... yeesh...

OK, I'm jealous now. This recession needs to end so I can afford new toys and get rid of my 'reboot 6 times a day, lagging, NO volume' iPhone 2G. :D

That's silly. That's like saying "Range of car is just ok, dependent of how much gas you put in the tank."

Of course quality of any photo or video is going to decrease as light decreases. Duh. What was the author honestly expecting?

Mine is scheduled for Thur delivery. Does anyone know if I will be able to use it for non call stuff before I go into Apple to get it set up? I have over 40 aps waiting to load on it.

My shipment notification says that it'll be shipped tomorrow as well. I was equally surprised.

That comparison isn't exactly fair. Tire threads, engine power, road + weather conditions can drastically change the range. Much like a bigger sensor, aperture size, cpu can improve low light recording, maybe he was used to better video recording and was simply unimpressed.

Order status is telling me that my 32gb black 3g s was shipped today from china and is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow the 17th.
