meh 16 gb is more than enough for me, and probably most people with an iphone
32 seems a bit overkill unless people also wanna use it as their main music device

Well, I guess I'm happy with my 16gig atm. Sure, DOUBLE the space might be handy but then the price would be a bit more so i guess I'll wait until August 2010 when my contract ends and the 128gig iPhone will be cheaper :D

This is cool if its true. I wouldn't normally need the extra capacity for day to day use, but when I travel I always used to bring my laptop with me to play movies/check email/surf the internet when I'm bored. Since I now plan to leave the heavy laptop at home extra space for movies and music would be great.

I think I may still wait, unless the 32gb has other upgrades. I just got my 16gb less than two months ago.

It's a little annoying because if there was a 32gb option on launch day, I'd have taken it. But my collection won't fit on my 16gb, nor will it fit on a 32gb, so I'll just wait til the next gen phone. It's kinda dumb of Apple really...if they really are coming with a 32gb soon, then they probably *could* have had it ready for July, and made that much more $, as I'm sure many people who bought a 16 would probably have opted for a 32.

32 GB Option

I personally have waited on buying the new 3G iPhone until the upgrade happened. I was expecting this after the drop of the 4 GB last year only a few months after it came out last year, and the adding of the 16 GB before Christmas. I expected the same to happen this year with a 32 GB option. So I'm pretty pumped for this.

you gotta....

luv it, being "pumped" for a worthless rumor that has not the barest of citation let alone one that could claim any previous record of success.

This with the iphone not even having the space for chips to get it to 32GB.

While it would be welcome and I'm sure it will, June 09 is probably the earliest it'll be coming.

And some rumor of substance would come up not just mindless ones. What is this the third mindless one in the last two months? It's hilarious.
:p

I will be very happy if the 32Gb model is released before 11 October, as this is the 3G upgrade deadline for first-gen UK O2 iPhone owners, and I want to hold off upgrading until the 32Gb comes out.

As discussed in this thread, O2 customer services say that after the 11th October iPhone owners will have to wait until the last month of their contract to upgrade (unless they buy their way out of their contract).

I suppose another upgrade route after 11 October could be to buy the 32Gb iPhone as pay-and-go and then use your O2 contract iPhone SIM in it? Anyone know if this would work?

I would have thought that would be a bit of a PR disaster for them as well, one they would be keen to avoid after mobileme..
I certainly would be 'disgruntled' at least

I'm personally not really bothered at all.

I use mine predominantly as a phone, with a few songs stuck on just to faff about with.

As long as I can still show off iPint etc to my pals, who gives a toot!

:)

don't think it will happen, I see this with the next yen iPhones but not the current model, if it does happen it will upset a lot of people, and I don't see apple making that mistake 2 years in a row. I also don't think apple will make a 32gb iPhone untill we see a bigger memory option in the touch. Just my 2 cents

Agreed. When we see a 64GB iPod touch, then it'll be countdown time for a 32GB iPhone.

I'd of liked to of had the option for a 32GB when I got my 16GB. Not going to upgrade or anything now as like I said before, 16GIG is probably too much for me!
