I just got mine in today and I was very impressed with the quality of the product. The only problem is that Ivyskin sent me the wrong product. They sent me the Xylo-T3 reflective case instead of the clear one. Before deciding on wether to return the product all together or get them to exchange it for me I placed my iphone into the case. There are no bubble problems once the iphone is in the case. The screen has the same responsiveness as it does without the case and it does not add a lot of bulk to the actual phone itself. I just wish the case I received was not the reflective one because the chrome reflective thing is just annoying and takes away from the nice nature of the iphone.

O yeah it does not have a protective film over the top of the screen.

Hi dubels...can you please post some pictures of your iphone with the reflective case...I quite liked it but am not sure...It'll really help if I could see some real life pictures...Thanks

Ivyskin and Black Residue from Black Protective Film

All,
My friend who has the Ivyskin Xylo T3 told me this morning that there is some black residue on the front case where the black protective film is. He suspects it's residue cause from the heat of the iPhone. It didn't get on his phone. Just something to look out for. It appears that QC has gone down in that some people got protective films on their cases while others didn't.

Best regards,
Sean S.

I ordered mine on 8/7 and was shipped out on 8/9. I just received mine. Mine was shipped from Englewood, NJ (My shipping address is NYC). They must have a warehouse there.

Here are a few initial observations.

1. I don't have any to peel off. No wrappers over plastic covering the screen section.
2. Like another person on the forum, they sent me a wrong case - I got reflective one although I ordered a clear one. I am not sure if I am going to return it.
3. It is hard to use with a screen protector. When I had a Power Source screen protector on, I had to press real hard to use it.

I will update as I use more. Also, if I decide to return/exchange, let's see how ivyskin's customer service is responding to this. I just sent an email to IVYSKIN regarding exchange (8/13/08 2:40PM).

i purchased both versions so let's see if they send me the same cases. i didn't know they had a clear one, do you mean the one with black on it? it was shipped today so if they got a warehouse in NJ, i should get it shortly since i live across the river somewhere in delaware, :D. some pics would be cool.

Yeah, I meant the black one.

I got mines today from ebay, here's some pictures
The case fit snug there's a little air bubble but it goes away if I squeeze the side of the case a little. I have a screen protector I'm not sure if that's causing the air bubble. There's light scratches on the case, but nothing really bad. The touchscreen works fine with the screen protector on, I might try to order the mirror skin and see how it works with this case. This one costed me $12.99 So comparing to Ivyskin that's about $17.00 saving. I also have a $5.99 case coming from HK.

I'd beware of these cases, I have been using mine for a few days. If any sort of semi hard particle gets between the back of the case and the phone, the next time you remove the case it will drag the particle across the back causing scratching/bite marks in the plastic.

I have had this happen with two iPhones. I really wanted a case like this to work, but I'm afraid to put it back on
:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Sorry to say that you are right, Just removed my phone from the case to look for small cracks that other iphone users are reporting and guess what, A scratch on the back of the phone where the case slid across the back of the phone, bummer:mad:

After a day of usage, I am returning it. My experience with Ivyskin did not start on a right note because they sent me a wrong case, chrome one instead of black. In addition, there are other factors that made me return it. Here are some of my reviews and complaints.

The biggest gripe is that I keep getting bubbles in the screen area. No matter how much I cleaned it, I kept getting it. Second, the sensitivity of the screen with the case on is not consistent. The middle area is okay, but the top area is less than sensitive compared to the middle area. I had to press hard to move around. Third, the case is a fingerprint magnet. After moderate use, the front side of case is full of fingerprints.

To be fair, the plastic is of fine quality and fits well with iPhone G3. However, too many cons overweigh pros.

I believe the ones on ebay are the older model of Ivyskin, because the holes for the sensors are there in Ivyskins gallery, but now it's just a bigger opening on the top. I notice that the touch on the ebay ones aren't that responsive. I'm still going to use til something better comes up. I hate the dust getting between the case and phone.

I got mines and only used it 1 day... since i received my switcheasy rebel artic case.

Xylo T3 is ok... i rather use my rebel.
anyone wants to buy let me know.

I still haven't received a response about them sending me the wrong order. I have tried calling and emailing them. Next step: 1) Contact BBB, 2) see if I can sell it.

I ordered a XyloDuo case in blue from them on the 7th. There has been no change on my status since that date, I tried calling them but they never answer their phone or got back to me after I left a message. Ivyskin has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. I think that they must work out of a storage unit and just have a fancy web page.

Unfortunately, you really need to threaten them before they will even attempt to do anything about a return. I complained to customer support and the VP of Operations because I had inquired about becoming a reseller. After all of the complaints on the forums and my personal experiences, I wrote a formal letter requesting a refund and outlined my disappointment. I received a full refund a few days ago.

Good luck!

Update.
I have to give credit where credit is due. I just got a response from ivyskin telling me that they have shipped me out a new case, a black one like I ordered, with a prepaid return package to send the chrome one back. Thirty seconds after I received the email there was a shipping confirmation from them in my inbox. I wish they would have done it a little earlier since I will be leaving town tomorrow for school.

I haven't had trouble with them yet so far, but I returned my case because I did not like and so based on what I read here in forum about their customer service, I decided to also file a dispute thru Paypal at the same time that I requested for a RMA# for a refund, I used Paypal to purchase this case. They responded right away! :D They were kinda mad when I filed a dispute but I told them I just want to keep the ball rolling and make sure I got their attention:D plus, even Paypal suggested that I do this just to make sure the seller respond quick. I've returned my case and still waiting for a refund. Wish me luck! ;)

Finally got my case...

After almost a month of waiting (ordered on July 14th), my case finally arrived on Friday. I'm in Japan, so shipping time was decent (about two weeks for standard shipping). I ordered the black iPhone 3G XyloT3 Case. There was a note in the box with instructions to remove the protective film on the front of the case. I believe this is found only with black models.

After using the case for about 5 days, I'm torn... It looks beautiful, esp. compared to the silicon case I was previously using.

However, the two sections of the case seem to be separating near the volume control buttons. Is this happening to anyone else? I can press the case together, but it splits again after only 30 minutes (esp. after bouncing around in my pocket).

At least you got a note about the protective film, I did not get one and mine doesn't have the protective film so it was already scratched. Plus I did not like the almost non-responsive reaction of the touch screen most of the time because of the case, even just swiping is kinda hard. With the problem with your case, make sure the top part in the middle are locked pretty good, that is the weirdest thing about that case, it's kinda hard also to take the phone out or even put the case together when the iphone is already on the case. So that's why I returned it and now I'm using my backup which is Gear4 Icebox and so far in my opinion is the best clear case I've seen so far.

I bought the ebay clone of the ivyskin, and it also splits like yours, I just kept snapping it back together, The case does not look like it will protect the phone to much if you dropped it so I made up my mind to get a iSkin Revo2 for my phone,I went back to my original silicon case until the iskin arrives. The touch screen shield on the clone works pretty good so I decided to remove it from the front frame and cut it down to the same size as the phone, I placed it on the phone and put the silicon case on. I am happy with it, No bubbles and it protects the face of the phone better than a thin shield. When the iskin shows up I will probably use it with that too.:)

Clone Wars

The ivyskin and the Clones are the same case, Only difference is the missing ivyskin logo on the back, The same manufacture makes them, then ships them to dealers who write fancy descriptions for them and doubles the price. There are some cases that look like ivyskin but are not as good, looks like some of you bought that one off of ebay, and they do look cheap, but the one I bought off of ebay is the duplicate of the ivyskin, It has the same issues too.:)

Well, they got the package I returned for refund and they offered me a refund thru Paypal. I don't know what would've happened if I haven't gone thru Paypal. This got resolved quickly and no hassle. I'm glad I didn't have to go thru disputing the charges thru my credit card company. :p

I bought an iphone last monday (Aug 11th), ordered the ivyskin t3 on tuesday directly from their website, and received the T3 Touch Thru yesterday (monday).

I agree with the above assessments.

1. The build quality is good, especially the back plastic.
2. There was no film covering the front plastic part.
3. I get bubbles on the screen which then marks on the phone.
4. The sensitivity goes down quite a bit. Scrolling and resizing pages becomes a little more difficult, and the "back" buttons for Twinkle, Pandora, and the built in mail client become essentially unusable. It looks like the top left corner doesn't have as much sensitivity as teh middle part of the screen.
5. Closing the case is not straightforward. After you slide the case together, the top part is a bit split.
6. The interrior of the case had plastic burrs, which had to be removed, or filed down to prevent scratching the iphone.
7. The added size is fairly negligible.
8. Because of the openings, it leaves funny dust specs around the phone.

Overall I'm a bit underwhelmed. The case seems sturdy, looks good, will likely provide good protection and doesn't add much weight/bulk to the phone. However, the sensitivity is a big problem, the bubbles get annoying and the case doesn't come together properly.

I'd say 2.5 stars out of 5.

Certainly not worth $40

Bad experience...

Here is a transcript of my PayPal dispute with them and their response. They do not answer emails or phone calls. I was a big fan of their case for the 1st gen iPhone. Not anymore.

My claim:

I was one of the early orders for the T3. I waited 2 weeks past their advertised "ready date". When the item finally came, it did not fit properly. The touch screen was not apposed against the front of the case, causing you to have to push quite hard to make contact. The sides of the case did not lock together. Lastly, the case cracked while trying to adjust above issues. I emailed this to seller but have received no reply. Others have had similar experiences as outlined on the forums of macrumors.com. I want to be refunded for this item but have not heard back from seller. Please advise thank you.

Check your email from August 10th at 23:53. I DID try and contact you directly. You are the one acting unprofessionally, not answering your emails or phone calls. You claim to stand behind your (faulty) product, yet you now accuse me of being unprofessional? You have lost a customer for life. I am sending it back this weekend as per your instructions and I will email you the tracking number as soon as it ships. I then expect a full and prompt refund as you stated above. I will communicate with you through PayPal as it seems the only way you will respond.

This is the one

Well I have gone through quite a few cases lately, But i have found the one that i am going to keep. The Iskin is the best case that I have tried and its the one that i will keep. The feel and looks and protection that it offers is in my opinion #1.
Here is a picture of the cases that I have tried, I bought the black incipo at the AT&T store when I purchased the iphone, It was ok but felt like it would slip off the phone. The next one is the blue ivyskin XYLO It took almost four weeks to receive it,with no response from ivyskin after numerous inquiries about shipment Its ok too but the silicon case feels a little to hard in my hand, The home button is really hard to push in. plus the screen protector that came with it does not fit the phone, it was to long! The next one is a crystal case that I got off of ebay for six dollars, It is similar to the ivyskin but not as good a quality. the material that it is made of is thinner than the ivyskin's, and the case is really hard to slide together, the touch screen works ok, It feels cheap and I would not want to put my iphone in it. The blue gel skin is another that I bought off of ebay. cellet jelly, six dollars. another cheap case, the silicon broke around the home button almost immediately, very thin silicon material, I used some scissors to cut it below the home button to be able to keep using it and to make it look a little better. the next one is the ivyskin clone, I saved twenty dollars by buying this one off of ebay was far better than the crystal case, thicker plastic, and feels solid, touch screen worked pretty good, but the case scratched the back of my phone when I removed the phone from the case and it also nicked the chrome bezel. I removed the screen protector from it and cut it down to use with the gel skin cases, worked pretty good, the top case is the iskin, this is the one I am keeping, It just feels right in my hand and the iphone looks pretty good in it, far superior to the other cases. I like the removable screen protector, I wish that I had bought this one first, would have saved me some money. I might buy me a red one next. just for a different look. All of the other ones are going into my desk drawer to collect dust..
