iPhone 3GS vs iPhone 4 design

I like the iPhone 4's thinness but I always liked the 3GS' curviness. However, I like the build quality better with the 4
 
With 4, I'm loosing signal where I did not with 3GS
Most everyday item made to be ergonomically comfortable in your hand,
I would not trade 4 for 3GS back because of everything else 4 has to offer, on form/ feel/ comfort level/ signal strenth is 3GS all the way
 
The iPhone 4, ten times over. I liked my white 3GS a lot, but the 4 feels sturdier and more expensive, and I've found that, with a thin case like an Incipio Feather, the reception is superior to the older model. The GPS reception is also way, way better.
 
I held onto my original iPhone for 3 years because I didn't like the plastic and shape of the 3G and 3GS. I LOVE my 4.

Tell you what, give me an old pentium 3 computer and I'll put it in a new case, attach a high res LCD monitor to it, and hook up a webcam to it, and sell it to you for full price as new technology.

Oh, this is just wrong. A square, hard edged shape does not feel better in the hand than and a rounded form. That's what ergonomics is all about.

You may like the feel of it better, but that's not ergonomics...
 
I love the gorgeous black glass of the iphone 4. I think the plastic almost makes the iphone 3G/3GS look cheap. I didn't like the plastic casing on my 3G and can't stand plastic items in general. In fact, I'm trying to get as much plastic out of my apartment as is feasible.

Thing is, I could never tell the 3GS had a plastic back on it just by looking at it. I actually had to tap on it to tell. Gloss black could be plastic or painted metal. Looks the same and the 3GS has enough weight to it that it does not feel cheap either.

I understand having a shiny new iPhone 4 gives people license to trash all previous models, but I think the 3GS gets a complete bum rap.

If were talking functionality, iPhone 4. If were talking about something to hold down my papers on a windy day, 3gs.

I had the money for an iPhone 4 but chose 3GS for the following reasons.

Apple 2007-ish? You say it like apple 1980-ish. 2007 was only a few years ago! and the iphone 3GS was made in 2009. I hate it how apple people call everything else crap when something new comes out. People will call the iphone 4 crap when iPhone 5 is out etc... I still respect the G3 suff. Just because apple has brought somthing new out doesn't mean the stuff before as gotten any worse. Get a grip.

I actaually did feel the defference in weight.


A glass back? Seems to me that people these days just want something shiny to show off with but don't care about how strong/practical it is. I had an iPhone 3G (Sold because I wanted a new guitar) and it was very strong - just like my 3GS.
 
My 3GS is getting laggy with the 4.3 update. I wouldn't want to be stuck in a 2 year contract on a phone that is getting crippled by software updates (and just wait for iOS 5 :eek: )

How about you say "At the time when pentium 2.4Ghz was around with 1gig of ram and a 256 meg graphic card and you change the processor to a 3.0Ghz (same tech) double your RAM (same tech) and increase the graphics capability from a SD graphics card to a HD. You then replace the white box with one covered in glass and fancy stuff that looks and feels 10 times better.

To also say there is no change in speed is a crock of s*&t. I have had the first iphone, the3G, the 3GS and now the 4 and the first thing I always do is place them side by side and compare. The 4 is much faster!

I have had ago of one of my friends iPhone 4. Is a bit faster but...... The other things outweigh the good for me but I can see why people would want one.

I hope the iPhone 5 looks like the iPad 1
 
Still not able to sell my beautiful 3GS white, although I only use the 4G.
But playing around with the 3GS yesterday, I realized how annoying the resolution is, compared to the retina...

Design wise they both rock, the 4G being a bit "cooler, stylish" imo and the 3GS kind of smoother, mainly because of the shape of course. Would go for the 4G regarding design, I guess ;-)
 
A friend tried to ring me today to tell me that he wasn't coming. But when I answered the phone it knocked off. 2 hours later he managed to ring to tell me that he could not make it - he said he tried to ring but his IPHONE 4 was losing signal so he could not ring.

The SIGNAL is the biggest issue, I loosing call in my house basement o. Reg. basis. 3G I could talk with no problems.
The looks, internal, display, speed... Yes iphone4 is the king. Ergonomics, hands down 3g model,
 
I love the look and feel of the iPhone 4. Coming from a 3GS, it did take a few days to get used to the squareness and the feel of it in my hand. But I don't think I would be able to go back. And the backs of the previous versions don't hold a candle to the glass back on the 4. I've had it since the day before launch, and I still don't have the heart to cover it up. Had the bumper originally, and now I have an aluminum bumper.

I'd be disappointed if the newest phone went back to the old design.

I wouldnt say that, cause the 4 is nowhere near that kind of speed increase.

As you can see here, the 3GS and the 4 are cut from the same cloth. Of course the 4 is marginally faster, its clocked a little higher.
