Any updates on this app hitting the app store?

Just wanted to update everyone on Power Light. Apple asked us to change it so that it only works on iPhone 4. We had originally designed it to gracefully downgrade to a regular "Screen Light" flashlight app on non-iPhone 4 devices but Apple was not happy with that. We still have the Screen Light feature which means that you can either use the strong LED light or the Screen Light for softer lighting needs like reading.

Also, I'm very happy to announce that Power Light will be FREE!

I do feel that we have the nicest styling and icons of all the Flashlight apps and I hope you will try Power Light once it is approved (hopefully soon)!

My favorite, by far, for two reasons - LED Light for iPhone 4 Free.

Sure, the name is long and weird, but my two reasons are, it's simple yet good looking, and it's free. Perhaps it's also a plus the developer included iAds, because I'm excited to try them out.

This one is AWESOME! Oh so clean gui. Not some goofy looking "windows paint" drawn flashlight. Love it.

And the adjustable strobe/flashing feature is a great bonus. Will be helpful when at events like the GA laser show and your friends are trying to find there way back to you in the dark.

Thank you!

thanks! This post should be a sticky so people won't get ripped-off! it also looks much nicer than all of the paid apps -.-

No problem, to all those who like the one I pointed out. :)

Like someone else said, I can't stand bad looking apps that look like I drew something in Paint. I also like a good looking icon - I hate ones that have a brightly colored FREE!!! banner on them. It makes my iPhone look like a poorly done advertisement on a McDonald's.

Via that app, I noticed iAds is actually done really well. That was my first time seeing and using one. I'm going to win me a Nissan Leaf... and immediately sell it.

Are any of these apps using the full flash and not just the pre-flash?

As far as I know, only that "pre-flash" brightness is allowed to be used.

Since this was your thread from the beginning, I feel obligated to give yours a shot if it's free. So far, your app's name is better than the one I like. Let us know when it's out, and I'll be unbiased at naming my favorite.

Power Light is Now Available!!!

Hi Everyone,

I'm happy to announce that Power Light is now available on the App Store and we've decided to make it completely FREE.

Download now from:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/power-light/id366871005?mt=8

I hope you really enjoy Power Light as much as I have developing it and interacting with all of you guys during the development process.

We have some features that other Free Flashlight apps don't have including:
• Screen Light — sometimes it's nice to use your screen as a softer light for reading, etc. We prevent the screen lock from dimming the display.
• Auto-Off — Set a timer to turn off the flash light incase you accidentally leave it on. Great for saving battery life.
• We plan on adding more features to this FREE app.

We also have put a lot of work into the design. Here is our icon:

Best,

Very nice. I'm hoping you have the iAds on the free one and a .99 version add free. You should be rewarded for your work.

Can you change the button to glow blue when you turn the light on? That would be a fantastic add.

Alright, I have to say I admire all of the features in yours, and that most people probably will as well. It also looks pretty good. Adding that white screen light is a nice touch that lets any iPhone use that one single App.

The other one I downloaded first, LED Light blahblahblah has no options but the strobe, besides the on and off button. The strobe is actually not done the greatest - the arrows are fine, but the slider is weird.

Personally, I prefer the LED one. It's just simple and it's one big button. On a 3.5 inch screen, I think the button should take up at least half the screen, as it's weird to have one little button as the main App. Both seem a little small still, so I can only recommend making the buttons bigger on both.

All in all, great job on yours, I just don't need the options, personally.
