iPhone 4 Camera Flash Hacked into Flashlight [Video]

Here's another feature I'd like…

I'd like there to be a way to have the light turn off after a configurable amount of time. Sometimes, when traveling, I would like a light that stays on long enough for me to find my way to bed in the dark. In the past, I've gotten enough brightness from leaving email open and letting the screen go to sleep after 60 seconds. Using te LED would be much better.

Good luck getting this approved. I hope they let it through.

We have this feature in Power Light! You can select 1 minute, 5 minutes or 10 minutes.

Can I only install the beta on a Mac? My primary iTunes account is on my Win7 machine, not my MBP.

I have been using my flash as a flashlight since I got the phone, and I search the app store every day hoping someone would do this. I can't wait to try it out.

LED iLight has now been in review for 5 days....

If apple doesn't approve this afternoon, I plan on passing out some free beta copies. Head over and join my googlegroup and I will be posting beta instructions later today.

I'm glad Apple's allowing these. Feel bad for the guy who submitted awhile back and was rejected... he would have been first.

Excellent!

I just used the video recorder to get the light last night. I had to go reset a circuit breaker in my side yard and found it was darker than I thought. I didn't take a flashlight, but using the camera light on my phone was plenty bright. It will be nice having that feature with a single touch of the app instead of going into camera>video>light>on and then going back when done.

Man, there are a lot of these apps appearing today. A couple of them do more than just light up (strobe, Morse code, etc). Is there a way to sort by release date (or any kind of sort at all) in the App store in iTunes or on the iPhone?

Glad these are getting approved. I was a bit worried they might not be for "limited functionality" or private APIs.

At this point I'll buy the one with the best icon. :p

I snagged the free one... works great!

BTW, it seems that the light is the brightness of when it sets the focus, not the brighter flash that happens when the photo is taken.

That one looks nice, but I was asking about "Power Light" because (as far as I can tell) it's the only one that has a configurable "on" duration.

Oops, sorry. I got confused and thought Power Light was LED iLight just with a name change. All of these apps coming out at the same time messed me up. :)
