The problem is not happening AFTER the phone has been assembled and you are using it, it is happening during the manufacturing stage...dust is getting in between the glass the screen before it has been sealed...that's where the dust comes from! It's very easy to tell if it's dust or a dead pixel...turn the screen off and wipe it down and then shine a bright light onto the screen and examine it, if you see anything it's dust or dirt or lint! If you don't but you only see the mark when the screen is on, it's definitely a dead pixel then!
Last night I bought a 4S for Virgin Mobile at Target, took it home it had a dead pixel, took it back tonight to exchange, brought it home now this one has a piece of lint/dirt between the glass and screen down near the bottom center.
I called the store and told them this was the 2nd phone that has screen isssues and did they have an issue with me swapping it out a 2nd time for phone #3, they said no not a problem. If phone #3 doesn't work out, then I'm trying a different store.
This is why I don't like to buy phones in person, I prefer to order them online and have them delivered, that way I don't have to deal with cranky store employees who think I'm ridiculous for exchanging phones with screen issues that are so small, most people wouldn't see them.
The problem is that I see them and it's unacceptable when you pay this kind of money for a phone, I expect the phone to be flawless...and they always are except for the screens...there has never been one time that I have bought an Apple iPhone where I have not had to exchange the phone 1 or two times.
For an Apple product this is really quite pathetic!
So I'm going back to the store after this Hurricane has past us on the East Coast to try for phone #3...very frustrated with this!

Thats called: OCD. I bet this iPhone is actually at the top of your expenses list cause I couldn't care how much it cost me and if I had dust under my display.
That makes you trifling!
