You should be flogged with a cat 'o nine tails for wasting 2 whole minutes of my time OP....this "tip" is mentioned in the downloadable user guide...which you have not read obviously

That took you two whole minutes to read?! My pet monkey could have read that post in under a minute and also would have made a wittier comment.

Thanks for the post OP! I like it!

I've been learning about these new features too! I've added a couple of more cool things.

To enter a number or symbol quickly, touch and hold 123, then select the key you want. Lifting your finger returns you to the alphabet keyboard.

This will for sure save me some taps :D

Thanks!

Enable International Keyboards for International TLDs

Go to Setting > General > Keyboard > International Keyboards. Then, once you turn on the ones you want, they’ll show up inside the .com button.

Oh cool, that one I didn't know. Not that I think I would ever use it but that's okay :p

I'm going to post the instruction manual for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod and tell everyone I'm just helping out those who didn't read it. Yeah... That sounds like an awesome idea.

Not sure why but the holding down the '123' key to quickly type a number and then go back to the keyboard doesn't work for me. It stays on 123 even after I lift my finger up. Tried it in Messages as well as Safari.

That's a great tip. Another great tip you might not of known is that you can turn the iPhone off by holding the power button. I haven't tried it out yet, so I could be wrong.
Well, and what about turning it on?! Also hold the power button and it just... turns on!

No seriously. I was in at a Apple Authorized Reseller store (or however that is called), and someone in front of me brought back his iPad because it was defect. As it turned out he somehow turned it off without knowing it, and didn't know how to turn it back on and thought, therefor, it was defect.

Ok, let me help you out. You first have to be in the alphabetical keyboard. Then you tap and HOLD the "123" button on the bottom left, once you see the numbers pop up, keep HOLDING your finger and move to the designated key. Then you let go, and it will automatically put in the number and move back to the alphabetical key.

You might think, what's the point of this?

It makes moving back to the alphabetical key faster and more efficiently.

Thanks, now I got it. I didn't realize you were supposed to use one finger and slide it, I was using one finger to hold the '123' button and then another to hit the actual number. And I definitely see the use in that.

Somebody comes along with a tip to share. No matter how much you read, you can easily miss stuff.

But, sadly, a bunch of ho-ho's have to post all kinds of smart a$$ remarks wasting everyone's time reading worse crap than the supposedly bad original posting.

And sadly, I have contributed to the vast wasteland of needless jabber.

I've inverted colors on my iPad a couple of times by accident. I have no idea how I do it. Anyway, I have to then look all over for the way to turn it back. :D

It's under the accessibility settings.

iPhone 4 features

I did not know all of this stuff existed! I think I know nothing of my iPhone!

Oh my god. I never knew double tapping the space bar puts the period for u. So cool. Ive been using the phone for about 6 months now.
