I went to the apple store, purchased my phone, never put it in my pocket, came home, layed it down on a brand spankin new Ray Ban Microfiber cloth, came back the next morning and there was a nick in the face. In a world where simple care was the key for keeping things in good condition, nothing in my life makes sense any more.

Nothing enters my room ever, as the door is shut both when I am out and inside it. No cats, no parents, nothing. :(

Take it back. I had my phone over a month and complained about the camera lens scratches, plus I fibbed a little and said that it dropped calls even in full signal areas, and I got a replacement phone today within an hour. It was in a box like a refurb, so I dont think it was new, but it looks new and has no scratches, much better than my original one.

Being you seem to have just gotten it, tell them you want a new one. Otherwise return it, and go buy a new one since you are still within your exchange period. There is no excuse for the way these things scratch so easily

Yeah, I was planning on it. I have this thing though where I get nervous about returning products with literally nothing wrong, but with a little ding only an OCD person would see. I don't understand why it bothers me so, but I just feel as though spending 230 was enough! Now I can't take the damn thing out of the case without slapping an equal priced protective cover over it. I love the simplicity of the phone, and just want to use it, but if my overdone amount of care still ends with a scratch, what will normal use do to it? :(

I have had my phone for over 2 weeks now, use it completely naked and I keep it in my front left pocket with nothing else in at all. So far not a single scratch on the front or back.

I never lay down the phone on a hard surface in case the back scratches. Put it on the couch and when I go to bed I lay it on a cloth on my bed side table. I really don't wanna put anything on/around it. The phone is designed so nicely one of the reasons why I got it and I wanna enjoy the design of it without making it ugly/thicker.

I always lovingly wrap my iPhone in sandpaper before putting in my front pocket with my pet rock and a few rusty nails and now I have scratches all over it. Screw you apple!

Funny, you know I always preferred buying clean new nails... You eco green people have your own methods of reusing though I guess. "As long as it's green, we don't care if humans get tetanus! As long as the Earth is safe"
