iPhone 4 Orders Being 'Prepared for Shipment'

Many of those who have been obsessively checking their order status at the U.S. Apple online store have seen their order status move from Not Shipped to "Prepared for Shipment". Due to the massive volume of shipments, Apple will likely start shipments early but ask the shipper (FedEx or UPS) to hold the shipment at the destination warehouse in order to time simultaneous delivery on June 24th.

Meanwhile, customers who ordered their iPhone 4 from AT&T have seen some early credit card charges and they are organizing in this discussion thread.

Finally, those who are planning on camping out or meeting up at their local Apple Stores or AT&T stores can participate in our Meetup forum where users are posting threads by location. The demand for the iPhone 4 seems particularly high so getting one on day number one will be difficult without a pre-order or arriving early to stand in line.

Many of those who. Use of "that" for "who" and "which" is my pet grammar nazi peeve of the month, especially because I've been spending the afternoon reading the ACPI spec and it's full of it.

im betting at&t wont update till 23/24th.. as they are probably in the process of receiving their inventory early next week

I think it is mine still says not yet shipped and I got the order in at 4:18 PM PDT after 14 hours of trying lol. The first post shows their order time was At 1:15 AM. Oh well I think if it says delivers on June 24th we'll still get our phones the earlier people that got through just get their orders processed first.
 
Ok, I couldn't help myself and registered for this forum! I ordered from Apple the first day at 7:31pm PST and was in the gap when the Apple store had the June 24th date, but my confirmation email had July 2. And I just got the "prepared for shipment" note!!! There is hope for some of us July 2nders! And I have no idea how to do a screen shot. Sorry!

Yeah... but then I saw it was post on MR at 5 past the hour, 10 mins before that order was ordered so I'm not sure.

Ho hum! I should get to bed but, might aswell wait to see if it changes in the next 10-15 minutes haha
