Nope.
I'm not one to change phones often nor do i really feel any desire to. Every phone I've had so far I've kept for about 2-3 years.

So, unless it breaks I'll be getting iphone 7 or something.

If it is a worthwhile update yes. I wouldn't bother if it was like the iPhone 3G to 3GS jump.

I'm willing to bet we'll see an iPhone 4x something or other prior to an iPhone 5. At this stage, I'm not hearing any rumors of "must have" features. We've got camera, video, gaming, memory and IPS screen already covered in the i4. I'm betting you'll see improvements in one or more of those areas that represent "GS" style of moderate hardware upgrades.

That said, if the iPhone 4X/5 is released on Verizon, I'm on it like the paparazzi on the Kardashian sisters.

I've never owned a iPhone so right now as things stand I think I'm going to just wait for the iPhone5. My contract is up with Sprint and I can stick with my Touch Pro 2 until the new iPhone comes out.

I am going to presume the next rendition isn't going to be a major update to the iPhone 4. With that said, unless some astronomical new feature is introduced in the next iPhone, I will more than likely stick with my iPhone 4.

That's the exact route I would take if I owned the iPhone 4.

I don't think the next iPhone will have much of a jump in technology, so I'll be keeping my iPhone 4. However if it changes the game on how we look at mobile smart phones, then I'll get it if the subsidy is right.

It SO depends upon the feature set offered, both in terms of the hardware AND whatever the next version of the software contains that will ONLY operate on the new phone.
It also depends upon AT&T and their upgrade policy, particularly if Apple offers the iPhone on other carriers here in the US. I would never pay full price for one locked to any carrier.

I paid £600 for my 32 gig 4 so il wait till the 6 comes out next year unless they do something special with the new one then il sell this one and pay the difference. If the battery life is double or more of this 4 then il certainly make a big decision!!

yes, bought the 4 in august 2010 and im due an upgrade in august 2011 anyway.

id still buy it full price even if i didnt have the upgrade

Probably yeah, the great thing about the iPhone is the great resale value. So it will make up in price.

Plus I'm waiting for 64GB. 32 isn't enough haha. I'm going to have to start removing songs soon. With all the video / image apps it fills up space easily

None of the above, I've had the iPhone 3G, 3GS , and 4. I finally at the point that using the phone is boring and out of date looks. I will be either converting over to wm7 or android. Im sick of hanging up on people with this phones issues and the proxy sensor muting the phone while talking to people.

Apple needs to make way more changes to iOS than they need to the actual iPhone hardware IMO. Granted they'll continue to do both but I'd much rather see software changes than hardware ones *cough* notification system *cough*

I might buy an iPhone 5 just depending if RIM comes out with a torch with some more toys on it.

I read this all the time but what is wrong with the way it is? We need a central place to see all notifications in case we miss one sure.....but the popup thing is good to me. I can either explore the notice or close it and then go back to what I was doing. If you don't do popups...then you get a notice sound....have to go to the notification place, see what it was, then go to the notifying app. More hassle than just dealing with A popup IMO.

No, I need to maximize my iPhone 4. Need to use it for at least 2 years!

+1

Though I will admit now that I'm playing more games on my iphone, the pop up can be annoying. But I do like it just telling me outright what the notification is.

But, it should have a way of showing more than one notification at a time when the phone gets a few while I am away (I could swear it did on iOS 2 cause I could swear I'd see more than one notification but now I've noticed sometimes if a new notification pops up an older one will disappear before I've seen it <- only cause I'll notice later that something that it should have notified me for it didn't and I assume it's cause a newer thing came up that it needed to notify me of).

So, I guess I can see some bad but overall the pop up thing doesn't annoy me too much and I can see the advantage that above post points out.
