I just upgraded from a 3G and I hope to get two years out of my iPhone 4. In late 2012/early 2013, whatever the newest iPhone is that I can get for the $200 upgrade price, I'm gonna get it. :D

there is no feasible improvement they could offer in 5 beyond cosmetics

edit: maybe a functional alarm

i feel like the iphone4 > iphone5 transition will be very similar to the 3g > 3gs transition in terms of "life changing" added features

so i plan to stick with my iphone4. i feel like i've been buying/upgrading at the right times so far: i skipped the original iphone (sucked) and got my first iphone when 3g was released, then skipped the 3gs (minor improvements) and now have an iphone 4 (major improvements).

i'll skip the iphone 5 and upgrade when 6 comes out..

+1

Though I will admit now that I'm playing more games on my iphone, the pop up can be annoying. But I do like it just telling me outright what the notification is.

But, it should have a way of showing more than one notification at a time when the phone gets a few while I am away (I could swear it did on iOS 2 cause I could swear I'd see more than one notification but now I've noticed sometimes if a new notification pops up an older one will disappear before I've seen it <- only cause I'll notice later that something that it should have notified me for it didn't and I assume it's cause a newer thing came up that it needed to notify me of).

So, I guess I can see some bad but overall the pop up thing doesn't annoy me too much and I can see the advantage that above post points out.

Yea that's why I said a central place to see all past notifications ( maybe a notification app). That way if you miss one you can still see what it is. But I hope they don't do away with pop ups altogether.

If it works as a phone I'm in.

Out with the "iCan't HearYou 4", I'm so eager to dump it.

It all depends.

I said yes, but honestly, if it isn't a noticable upgrade, I will wait a bit, and pick one up after the buzz dies down.

I love my iPhone4, it feels like a phone should, solid, sturdy and weighty (but not too heavy).

The 3Gs just feels like a toy to me now, but the iPhone5 would want to be something like dual-core, 1GB RAM 64 - 128GB storage with a very big OS upgrade for me to make the jump.

Count us in for 2 iP5's on launch day...since I have the family plan and I am the account owner I always get early upgrade at max discount....will probably pay full price for the wife's phone again. That being said with what I sold my 3gs for we really only shelled out 100 bucks all total last time.

Nope, I'm expecting the upgrade to be like that of the 3G->3GS. I'll update when its iPhone 6.

If it has a 4" screen, which I doubt it will, then I'll upgrade. If iPhone 6 still doesn't have a 4" screen, I'll move to another platform like WP7.
