Glad I could help.

I've used Best Skins Ever, Wrapsol, Zagg and Body Guardz. Because if the improved optical clarity this is probably my favorite. Body Guardz and BSE tie for second. :)

Wrapsol was great for 3GS as a matte solution but was minimal on protection. I still liked it a lot though. They have had a shaky start for iPhone 4.

These screens do not cause excessive glare.

thank you for replying!

i was thinking about bse too but i think you need to mix soap and water for the application but i just saw the video for application of phantom skinz and it seems a lot easier since you just use water.

again thank you! i think i'll be going with phantom skinz :D

Just an update. After drying and being out the sunlight there is an EVER so slight orange peel effect but it's minimal. I was in a darker house last night and didn't even notice it a bit, only in direct sunlight did I see it a little.

Just thought I'd chime in. I got the Phantom Skinz on Thursday. Here are my thoughts:

1. Install is easy since this is wet application. Spent half an hour installing only the back side. Hardest part was removing all the dust on the screen. Wanted to see how it would turn out before installing front. Used the steamy bathroom method to minimize dirt.
2. Coverage is great. Almost hits the edges of the back but not quite. The camera cutout is very clean.
3. There is noticeable orange peel. From previous reviews that I read I expected little to no orange peel effect but was disappointed. This is my #1 concern with screen protectors so I'm really anal about this. Put this next to a non covered iPhone 4 and you can easily tell the difference. I was going to give the extra protector to my friend and he didn't want it after seeing mines.

Overall, I only think these are only ok. They DO have an orange peel effect to it. Currently on my front screen I have an old 3G screen protector (.99 cent) as a temp and it looks clearer than the Phantom. I should note thst it was a dry app and has zero orange peep effect.

I will be on the lookout for a dry app screen protector. I'm eying th sgp or PS.

Phantom Skinz messes with flash!

Update to my mini review. I took off the Phantom Skinz and have emailed them about the flash problem. Didn't even bother with the 2nd set of protectors I got. Here are some pics.

This was what I originally saw with the screen protector on.

I readjusted the screen protector by trying to stretch the cover away from the flash and here's what I got.

I got tired and ripped the screen protector off. Here's the shot I got.

would you mind checking if your skin may be slightly where is not suppose to be? maybe if you had a bit hard time installing it and is covering the flash it creates this issue..

just wondering.. if it's a fixable thing, because the skin is so thin is hard to believe would reflect from that very small edge..

What flash problem? I'm not seeing you mention this before?

I also bought phantom skinz but just for the back. I got the Matte Back kit today and put it on took about 30 minutes but it looks really nice feels nice, cuts are almost perfect, camera and flash all work as it should.

Interesting, I have no issues with flash and my Phantom Skin installed.

Did your back only kit come with side protection? I emailed them and they said it should and said they would be sending it out for my back only order. I got the regular back kit. Any pictures of the matte? Curious to what it looks like. Does it also add any grip?

autofree,

We have heard of this issue a few times since we released our pattern. If anyone experiences a similar issue, email us and we will replace the back piece. We have since modified the cut-out around the camera and flash to be one elongated cut-out, not 2.

Thanks for posting this. This is the only place I've seen that sells the back by itself and that's all I want.

hey Ferris23

would you say that the film has set-in better.. or cured? not what it has been on for a few days?

Would you say that there has been a change or do you think it looks the same as when you first installed it?

Cause even thou there isn't much orange peel effect i think that it doesn't look absolutely clear like porwer support or sgp.. just curious

I slightly updated the post last week but as it dried I started to notice the very slight orange peel it does have a bit more, more so as it cured. When I first applied it and it was wet, I didn't notice anything, it was also in a dimmer lit room. As it dried against the light it does have a slight orange peel effect, not quite as pronounced as the other skins I've used, but there none the less.

Unlike Zagg which I can see at any angle, it seems with the Phantom I have to make more of an effort to angle the phone to see it, but it's not like it's impossible to see it.

When you mention the Power Support or SGP are you talking about the static adhering shields?

I've yet to use a skin that's as clear as one of those, still waiting for those to show up in local stores.
