Do I put the solution in a cup or bowl?
Did you dip your protectors into a bow/cup as suggested instead of spraying the film?
Here is what I do.
Have the following materials in your bathroom:
Cereal sized bowl
Micro fiber
The skin and squeegee
Dish soap
1) Run the shower on hot for about 10 minutes with the bathroom door shut, let the steam dissipate for a bit, maybe 5 minutes or so.
2) Rinse out bowl to make sure there is no dust in it, put a small drop of dish soap in and fill it half way with cold water
3) Rinse your hands to make sure there is no dust or hair on them
4) Blow the skin you are about to use off a bit away from your solution to make sure there isn't any dust on it.
5) Dip your fingers in your solution good, both hands, and start to remove the skin and dip it in the water at kind of an angle. You really don't need to submerge it, just make sure the entire bottom is coated in water. Don't over do it but don't be shy. After that (make sure your fingers stay wet) let it drip just a bit. Not too long because the longer it's in the air, the more chance it will attract a dust particle. The shower having been run should minimize the dust.
6) Apply the skin.
🙂 Slide it around in place and get it aligned, then press the micro fiber down on it lightly to soak up an excess water. Don't press too hard because your skin is still able to slide. You're just trying to remove excess before you start using the squeegee. I usually just cover the top of the phone with the micro fiber and lightly press down with my palm.
7) Inspect the skin, make sure there aren't any hairs or dust particles that will bug you, if there are just wet your fingers good, lift up the skin, and with your very wet finger remove the dust and re wet the underside of the film (only the section you are lifting)
8) Squeegee and dab with the micro fiber as you go. Even strokes side to side to get the bubbles out, be easy at first until you feel it's snug on the screen.
9) When it's all looking good put a hair dryer on it on cool for about 5 minutes or so. Every now and then let the dryer get a little warm, then back to cool in a waving motion.
The key is not to be afraid of getting the skin wet, but just not too wet. A skin with not enough solution will look very bubbly and take a while (days) to look decent. When you use the right amount of water and squeegee it all out, the screen looks perfect within an hour.
